Tonester Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Hi all…with this steam ctd fiasco over the past couple of days, i have been considering moving away from Steam dependancy. I bought BOS through Steam but absolutely everything else i have bought directly from the developers and linked them across so how do i go about setting up a ‘Non Steam’ install?…presuming of course that it can be done? And if so, will it just be a matter of repurchasing Stalingrad from the developers to get said install back to what it is on steam? Is it possible to do this with Cliffs of Dover as well?…I bought Tobruk through the developers as well. Thanks in advance for any assistance Edited September 20, 2022 by Tonester
Art-J Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Yeah, to have access to all of the Il-2GB content outside of Steam, you'd have to purchase BoS again, on 1C webshop. I'd suggest waiting for a good promo for this one while installing standalone game and playing all the other battles in the meantime. Won't work with CloD, however - no matter where it's purchased, that sim requires Steam to launch and run. It hasn't been affected by recent shenanigans, though, so you're still good to go to Tobruk ;).
hebog5 Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Slighty off your exact topic, but by steam shenanigans do you mean game loads up and then just disappears? It's happening to me right now! Tried to launch several times. Thank you.
Vishnu Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 If you bought any DLC on steam you’re screwed though.

Yep…they will sort it, of that much i am certain, but its annoying nonetheless as i am a FIFO worker and am home only every second week and half of this weeks rnr the game has been CTDing…very frustrating as i fly back to work tomorrow 2 minutes ago, Vishnu said: If you bought any DLC on steam you’re screwed though. no only bought Stalingrad on steam…absolutely everything else i bought here 13 minutes ago, Art-J said: Yeah, to have access to all of the Il-2GB content outside of Steam, you'd have to purchase BoS again, on 1C webshop. Download the 1C Installer/Loader here: Download / IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles (il2sturmovik.com) Install, log-in with your 1C-shop account and you are good to go. I have BoS and BoM from Steam and everything else bought here. I can access everything through that 1C-Loader method. Zero hassle.
Skycat1969 Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 I installed the 1C launcher last night All of my web store purchases are available. The content I bought as Steam DLC is not available. Fortunately for me that's only a few items missing out of my vast collection, although not having Battle of Stalingrad Deluxe is an annoyance.

Have you activated the Steam Keys in your 1C store account? Back then when I linked my Steam with my 1C account (5 years ago in 2018) I activated the Steam Keys for BoS and BoM, so that I can access everyting I own on Steam and here. Edit: Just checked Steam (GMT: 13:57, 20/09/2022) and lauching the game works. Seems like they fixed the issue? Edited September 20, 2022 by sevenless 1

Noisemaker Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Look, I know a guy... New identity, new passports, and you'll finally be free of those bloodsuckers, but it'll cost you. 4

I bought BOS collector when it first came out on Steam. Now that I have linked my accounts i have all my planesets. As for CLOD and BOT no its not at this time.

Skrimps Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 I am considering switching to the IL-2 launcher so I do not have to use Steam at all, as I currently only use it for IL-2 anyway. Does anyone know if it's possible to copy over my existing control profiles/binds, and campaign/scripted campaign progress? I would hate to lose all that.
Skycat1969 Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 I copied over most of my Steam settings, skins and mods last night -- no problem. I didn't attempt my careers and campaigns.
