So this new software called anges engine sim, that can emulate engine sounds pretty accurately, I found these clips on YouTube of the FW-190, BF109 and Spitfire.

That clip on YouTube sounds like crap.

I think the main issues here are that it's not being run at the correct RPM and manifold pressure with a constant load on it. I'd expect that with that plus some changes to exhaust noise processing due to different manifolds, it might be a bit better for aircraft purposes.
