Crash problem on startup - Again

I'm unable to fly tonight, again. I'm having troubles to run the game. Loading screen is ok, it loads and give me little turning wheel and the 'wait' title and than CTD. I suppose I's again problem with the connetion to the Il2 servers and it's not caused by my internet connetion or provider. Yesterday it runned perfectly. Today it's the dead horse. It's the second time in a month or so :(. I mean what the hell is going on? Does anyone else have the same problem? Is there something going on with the servesrs? Is it because of the situation in Europe? Does anyone have any idea please?

 

I tried to see dump files, but I can't open them.

I have exactly the same problem. Yesterday everything was fine, now unable to start. Behaviour like Corralandy12000 described.

Proofing of files by steam for integrity did not solve it.

 

No game today......

I've had the same problem since Saturday. I checked the integrity of the game from the Steam platform, a file to repair is detected but even after replacing it the problem remains and the game crashes on startup.

I have some very bad feeling about this. I hope it will be solved tomorrow. Second time in a month for a game not in an alpha state is quite too much in my oppinion. I really hope it's not happening for the reason that crossed my mind

Has anyone contacted the support? I mean not the steam suppoert (they're useless in this cases) but the official Il2 support

You know, this is the reason I liked the old way of publishing the games and having all the files in your computer needing no connetion to any servers... This couldn't happen back in the days.

I have to admit, this kind of stuff can really upset me.

I've found the solution on the support-page, it's a workaround, but it works (for me), try the following:

6) The game doesn't start, the application shuts down and a warning error message appears. What can be done here?
You need to launch the game as Administrator. Click with the RMB on IL-2.exe (...\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game\Il-2.exe), enter the menu and choose to run it as Admin.

Sai, questo è il motivo per cui mi piaceva il vecchio modo di pubblicare i giochi e avere tutti i file nel tuo computer che non avevano bisogno di connessione ai server aby... Questo non poteva succedere ai tempi.

Devo ammettere che questo genere di cose può davvero sconvolgermi.

 

I just read another thread open on Saturday. Actually if I launch il2 via the original .exe file (and not from steam) the game will run correctly.

There seems to be a number of .log files in the data folder all declaring lots of missing files that indeed do not appear to be present in the folders specified.EG:

Yes. I tried it now. I was able to run the game with the workaround but it's just the base game without any DLC (BoM, BoK, BoBp, colleror's...). So it's the issu between the publishwr and steam. I hope it will be solved soon. If not, what the hell can I do?

Interesting. I tried it again and I was able to get to the login screen launching it from the steam. But no matter what loggin option I clicked (link accounts or steam loggin only) it instantly CTD...

We were organising a multiplayer multy squad campaign on the new map, 30 min before the launch of the mission, everything was find and then... I think I might be doomed, not my day, out of the 90 players registered only 60 could start the game ( and some only had the plane bought on the website, which were not the one used on the mission...).

Anyway I'm sure it will be fixed soon, in the midtime anyone knows how to start the game in VR with the valve index by using the Il2.exe?? Could help some only VR guys (me ^^)

It seems so. I'm able to run the basic game as an administrator via root exe and steam turned off. It runs but without any owned steam DLC.

So yes, I thik this is a prooved steam issue. But not the BoS (root game) issue but the DLC issue.

Same here, trying to launch it from Steam, it loads and after maybe 45 seconds crashes to desktop no error message just before I reach the menu and hear the intro music.

It´s a Steam issue. Game is loading perfectly fine from the IL2-Launcher. 2 days ago launching via Steam was working fine for me, but today there was some Steam update which borked launching the game.

Ive never had this issue before. I can get it to launch from the bin folder in steam, and all my dlc's are present. The only problem I have is all my views and settings regarding views are all reset, and some control bindings are missing. No clue, bummed that I cant play tonight though. Im from east coast USA
