Ace_Pilto Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 (edited) Hi there, I've found that I get into a lot of trouble using trackIR in this game since the way in which the interpolation works in this game is not natural with the motion of my head when looking backward, or, more specifically, in the leaning or horizontal strafe motion when looking backwards since it gets reversed. For example, I close on a bandit, make a firing pass and then climb away but, as I am doing so I constantly lose sight since I have to lean to keep him sight. The transition from leaning from an initial position is fine when held from the initial tracking perspective but, If I return my view forward to maintian situational awareness and then look back again, the strafe, or "lean" reverses. I can't re-wire my brain to lean right when I want to look left so I wonder if anyone here knows what I mean and how to work around it? How do I get my trackIR to respect my movement like, for example, a VR headset does? Surely (relax, I'm not calling you Shirley) some of you pros know what I mean and how to deal with this? I just used Requiem's BOS profile, sorted out everything for me, might add, I'm very, very lazy. 1
Raptorattacker Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 I don't have trackIR but isn't there some sort of 'relative transition' that takes into account that when you go over 90° it compensates for the opposing viewpoints? I have Opentrack and a TrackHat clip and it certainly works okay in that.
PopsiclePete Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 (edited) Sounds like the tracker setting is inverted, or you need a higher sensitivity, if it is due to the tracker getting confused after losing track? Edited September 19, 2022 by PopsiclePete Second thoughts

Here, from Req himself. Edit: I'm using VR since a couple of weeks. There's a program called necksafer and it's very neat indeed. VR will typically be 1 0n 1, meaning that in order to look back (check 6) you have to look back in your chair as well. Necksafer will give me the ability to speed up the looking back from a set angle. I use it at 75 degrees (either left-right-up-down) and then it accelerates with a 2x setting. So to look back, I need to be at some 140 degrees and not stretch the hell out of this 60 year old neck of mine. That is doable, while in the forward arc it's all 1 0n 1 and it feels very natural to me. A profile such as necksafer should be reproducible in the TrackIR software. It will take some time though. Good luck, hope you can make it as natural as you can. Edited September 19, 2022 by Bando 2

As I said, I'm very lazy. Edited September 19, 2022 by Irishratticus72

So get a good profile that requires a little movement to see 180 degrees I have one that I've tweaked for 15 years, but I dont share it,? but lots of others out there are ok easy fix on the lean enable True view in TIR profile Edited September 19, 2022 by 69th_Panp
