CTD Every Time I Try To Start the Sim.

This is new.  I've never had any issues ever loading and starting the sim, even after the latest update.

I generated a new mission with SYN_Vander's Easy Mission Generator, and it saved as per normal, so I started Steam and it loaded, then I started the sim and it went through it's loading screen with the red line moving across the bottom of the screen, when it was all the way across the screen went black then... Bam!  On on the desktop and the game is no longer running.

 

I restarted the PC and same thing happened.

I have the same issue....was ok a few days ago.

Now when I start the game in steam...it takes me to the account-linking screen. Choosing 'link accounts' or  'open in steam' options...closes the game to desktop.

Doesnt throw an error.

It seems to be a steam issue, if you close steam and launch il2.exe from the local files it should work. (Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game)

Just keep in mind some of your Steam content might not work, but anything you purchased from the website here will be playable.

It starts up fine on Standalone so its definitely a Steam version only issue it seems, hopefully whoever flipped the wrong switch gets it fixed ASAP for yall!

I have the same issue it worked fine on Friday afternoon right through to midnight, today saturday red bar loads at bottom of screen then radial mouse icon shows then sound disappears and then CTD. I load from desktop shortcut, i don't load using steam.

Got it running by using the exe in the game directory.  Fine after that.  One of the other Pigs has the same problem, joined my server using the same exe.

 

Though maybe I should have stayed on the base...

I can run it through the exe in the game's folder, but I do not have access to the stuff I bought on Steam.  Hopefully this gets corrected ASAP.

Its a steam issue. There were problems this night also with other games on steam (some steam srever fuckup i guess)

same issue Im getting steam is not allowing the game to work states certificate issues.

VR - Yes! Like others I can start it thru Bin/ Game ' exe but I'mnot sure this saves missions completed etc.. Goiung back to Steam again, game CtD at the same old place.Has anyone figured out a quick ,permanent fix yet?

Without steam it works, but only what I bought directly through 1C.

Does it work for you if you disable Steam overlay in the Steam properties of IL-2?

 

Does it crash regardless of the VR option (when you run the gam through Steam you should see two options - Launch and Launch in VR)?

No matter what I try the result is always chrash.

Disable steam overaly = CTD

Runnig sa admin = CTD

Tuning from the bin exe with steam client running = CTD 

Trying to sign in offline = CTD 

Trying to link accounts = CTD 

 

Only option how to run it is to use the bin exe with the steam competly turned off. But when started like this the game won't recognize any steam DLC so it's compleetly useless...

I this there's something serious going on

I have the same issue. Even reinstalled the game, but can't launch it anymore. Always crashes after clicking the login button. With the .exe it launches, but I can't use all my DLC. Please fix

I had the same ctd problem on launch.
Workaround for me:
I checked the integrity of the files in Steam.
Following your recommendation, I directly launched the IL2 executable.
I restarted the game through Steam.
I was asked if I wanted to link the accounts, which I did.
It worked in normal mode and then in VR.

Anyone else having FPS issues since the steam issue?

 

After I relinked accounts it was ok for a bit but then reverted to the same issue. Getting half the FPS on the ground as before. In air it feels very jittery. 

 

No changes to settings.

You might check out the NeckSaver thread.The latest threads describe a utility that by passes Steam called OpenComposite.I’ve only used it briefly in conjunction with the latest beta version of NeckSaver. The work through isn’t too tough and I’ve found an amazing increase in my FPS even with all the options on highest setting.

You may have fixed it, but I'm still unable to start the game from my desktop. Laptop, I never had the problem to begin with. I either get a black screen, the little, yellow, circle emblem, or a load screen that never completes. Mostly, just the black screen. I would appreciate any feedback that might help figure it out. If you're going to ask for a log file, or something of that nature, please include where to find it. 

 

Ryzen 9, 5900 with 6700XT. 32gb ram, on a 2GB SSD. I've updated all drivers that I'm aware of, but I'm happy to check if you think there's something I've overlooked.
