WWCephas Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 When setting Waypoints priority to High I have found it pretty much disables the gunners on crewed bombers from shooting 98% of the time (they may make occasional random short bursts). Is it possible to fix this. because when you have bombers flying in formation on a bomb run, you really want them to hold that formation and not break like they would on Medium priority, but if the gunners are frozen the bombers are sitting ducks. Tested on A-20, B-25, B26, and Pe2 Thanks,
WWCephas Posted September 16, 2022 Author Posted September 16, 2022 To clarify this was in Multiplayer Dogfight mode.
IckyATLAS Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 This is known since years, and I have also multiple times complained about this. It seems Devs do not care at all about this. The logic is here that when priority is set to "High", then the pilot flies the bomber to go straight to the next point and does only this. If the bomber is attacked, no reaction and it will go down in flames. This is absurd but so it is. The "High" priority for bombers is to allow them to fly the last stretch of their flight or say the bomb run, straight and stable whatever happens around (flak, enemy fighters etc.) But if enemy fighters attack, then the gunners should fire against them even if the pilot makes no evasive action. If you want the gunners to react when attacked waypoint must be set to "Medium". But in that case the pilot may ruin the bomb run by doing evasive action if attacked. This is why I also consider the "High" priority setting as bugged. 1
