Pea_Shooter Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I made a British Hurricane skin but I hear Russian voices when I fly. Is there a way to change the Russian voice (attached to Hurricane skin) to a British voice(?) How does it work? Can I change it somewhere? Thanks for any help. (maybe it's a stupid question)

In Finnish V.P. server, there are two types of Allied airfields. One is for fighters and uses the Russian map marker and one if for bombers/heavy attackers and has fighters also. The second type uses the American map marker. If I take off a Yak7 from the American field and get wounded, the "I'm wounded" callout, everybody else will hear on their radio will be in American-accented English. If I take off a P51 from the Russian-marked airfield , the radio call will be in Russian. 1

(maybe it's a stupid question) In QM, unfortunately, there is no way to set the country by the custom skin, this feature is only available for the official skins, because there are special configuration files for them. You can make generated mission (_gen.mission in /data/Missions) from QM into a single player mission, and set your plane's country to Great Britain, so the voice and pilot model will be changed to British.

Should also be noted that taking off on an US-marked airfield gets you access to some of the toys that the Americans got, like the G-Suit. I also kinda wish that was tied to airplane or even pilot-selectable, like in FC, but here we are.

I was under the impression that G suits were only applied to the correct American planes when the correct map/region was selected and only during the correct time period the suits were available. Hence, flying a plane like a P-51 using an early war Eastern Front map automatically removed the suit buff.

It has to be the correct time period, but you also have to launch from the correct airfield in order to get them. Edited September 17, 2022 by [F.Circus]MoerasGrizzly
Pea_Shooter Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 I only play single player and took off from southern England on Normandy map. It was a BoB scenerio. Regingrave, that makes sense to me. Thank you. 1
