When there is no painting to do, it’s almost a holiday! ?

I'm currently reading "Tank Action" by David Renner, a first hand account of the Sherwood Rangers from D-Day to VE Day. Well worth a look!

Tank Action by David Render | W&N - Ground-breaking, award-winning, thought-provoking books since 1949

There is an awful lot of good tank information and tactics in this one and it's very well written.  Render is a key figure in this book as well.

Just remember,

Prior to 1943 the US Army tactical sign system consisted of painting the number of the tank on the turret sides.  This method used letters and numbers to identify all AFV's. I.E. H22 denoting Company H Platoon 2 Tank 2 on the turret.”

“ From 1943 until the mid-fifties, the USA adapted a new system.  This new system for the armored division operated from tank level through to division level. I.E. “3^33^H-22” (^ = triangle) on the front and rear fenders of the vehicle.  Only the white star was on the turret.”

There were often differences between theory and practice. It would seem that each battallion applied the markings in its own way.

I try to get as close as possible to reality. ?

Hi,

I have several work in progress or completed, especially about french armoured, but given the lack of activity on this forum, I didn’t know if it was useful to continue.

Yeah, I got the same feeling a couple of months ago. Still, I plan on painting some vehicles in the future if only for myself. I'll post them here, of course, but it's such a ghost town on the TC forums, I doubt anyone will notice.

It's so sad that TC, which has great potential, so forgotten by the Devs. We can't even get a hint of planned corrections, future plans, etc.

PS, I would download any skins you're willing to share, Maillon. Your work is always worth downloading.

I felt the same about the Additional AI Vehicles Mod. No expectation of many ever downloading or using it, but I wanted it, so I did it anyway. If things ever pick up here again it will be ready and waiting I suppose.
