Battle of Bodenplatte - 'failure to update' message on (nearly) completing install

This is an amazing sim but why oh why am I required WITHOUT CHOICE to be subjected to 'updates' around every 10/15 load ups of the game ( I dont play daily)  which then often take two days and nights to load up and towards the end of this process repeatedly getting the message ' failed to update' or update failure. The same problem exists in DCS but at least one has the choice on loading up the sim to play to have the option to 'update later' which I use all the time. Yes that means I might miss some extra game play assets or bug fixes but it saves the same problem that I am experiencing now with BOB and my other purchases.

 

To be positive has anyone any advice on how I might more quickly get this sim to update? any suggestions greatly appreciated.  I already reset my modem, turn off my virus checker and run the update as administrator before attempting to update. Now on my 2nd update attempt.
