No_Face Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 I started a career in Normandy. I joined No 329 Sqn RAF. My second mission was to patrol the beachhead area (23.6.44) Only thing is, in the HQ (1st and 2nd screenshot), everything seems normal but once I launch the mission, I have nothing (no itinerary displayed on the map, no objective either (but the data on my squadron are good) 3th and 4th screenshot) and I don't spawn in my plane, I am in spectator mode. It seems that no vehicles are loaded. (5th and 6th screenshot) I take the opportunity to say that during my first mission (23.6.44) I ran out of fuel (although I had left the default amount of fuel, I prefer to point this out because I find it strange that the game does not provide a sufficient amount of fuel, it's the first time it happens to me)

The Spitfire dosn't really have the fuel to go over the channel at the widest point and stay there very long, at least not if you fly on maximum continuous, I feel they should have completed the externnal fuel tank update before making the Normandy map and campaigs, the missions are just to long for the british planes. the P47 and P51 should do it fine. But the Spit just dosn't have enough fuel, I did a beach head patrol in the spit flying with boost 0 and 2000rpm over the channel and that gave me enough fuel to dogfight a bit and get home. if you fly boost +7 and 2600rpm you'll drain the tank.

It was indeed a Spitfire in unlimited mode (head boost +7 and 2 650rpm) Thanks for the information

I ran into this with p38s and spit careers who get patrol beachead missions. The clue it will happen is there will not be a edit your plane loadout tab next to the start. You can also go as low as boost -4 and 1700RPM, which was used to get the maximum air time in real missions. 1
YouBet Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I've had the same issue when tasked to fly a Patrol Beachhead mission. Happens every time I'm flying P-38s or Typhoons for this mission type when Air Start is selected. I can fly and finish the mission when a runway start is selected, but it always returns a failed mission with no mission statistics for any of the flight members. Should be easily recreated because it happens every time for me. If you are unable to recreate the instance, I can attach files. Thanks.
