Friendly AI does not attack on order

Hey team,

these are difficult times and I appreciate more than anything that you have finished another excellent product - BoN.

Long story short: the feeling of flight, the attention to detail, the looks, the sounds - everything about Il2:BoX is amazing. I sincerely love it and thank you so much for giving it all.

I understand that sim hobby comes together with grumpy community, responses etc, but this I've also learned to accept in all kinds of communities. I don't wish to pepper the forum with demands of this or that detail be added.

However,

in my current carrier BoM, I just got promoted to be a flight leader and AI simply refuses to follow the orders to attack. They circle above, they follow me, they even call out targets eventually, announcing intention to attack but in the end they don't.

So, my only complaint and ask - could we have working friendly AI orders?

I've noticed this yesterday. I was leading a flight od six in PWCG campaign and we bounced the flight of about 8 russians. I orderd wingmen to attack but instead of it they just followed me and did nothing no matter what order I used. So it was 8 against me and the rest of the flight circling and stupidly following me. So frustrating.

Orders used to work fine before BoN release. Please fix this asap, because this is a game-breaking bug.....

I've now tried PWCG as well and can confirm the same issue occurs as in the original campaign. For now, the only way to do it is to order 300-500 meters away to attack. It is very frustrating, since it makes leading flights a non-starter, everyone gets slaughtered at that point. No reason to fly high either, since you can't utilize the advantage. It is very sad, since the combat AI is pretty decent at this point.

Yes. I tried it few more times yesterday and it is broken. It's really hard to play with this issue. I really hope they will fix it soon. Anyway, the same issue probubly occurs when ordering your wingman to attack ground targets. They drop the bombs on nothing and circle untill you tell them to follow you. Only tried this two times tough, but I think it's there...

Asi you said, it's really sad it's broken because I was pretty happy with the AI in PWCG missons and how they responed to orders. I calmed down about the lack of improvments in singleplayer from the devs and I thought I will stick with PWCG until the stock career is (hopefully in future) improved. I was even thinking about buying BoN. But now as they broked even one of few working things as a die-hard singlayer man I feel pretty cheated ??

I think many are disappointed with the poor AI particularly if their internet connection is not that flash for MP. One hopes they will look into it in the near future.

AI is not the main problem. Imho AI isnt that poor, in fact they fly pretty good (sometimes at least). The problem is how they react, lack of group tactis and complex orders. And of course real situation awareness so the bounced are possible etc. This is what have to be fixed/reworked. I think we really don't need more planes or maps until this is solved.

This is still an issue. I'm at the point where there is not point to install Il2BoX anymore, since any singleplayer mission apart from heavily scripted one is broken by AI behavior. This is DCS level.
