=WH=PangolinWranglin Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Playing a new career with the release of Normandy has shown that the career mode could do with some variety besides new mission types. Older mission types especially feel rather same-y across all versions, theaters, weather, etc. The biggest issue I have with this is the fact that bomber cover missions almost always fly at 2km no matter the weather, capabilities of aircraft, etc. I have had 2 escort missions where the bombers were just motoring along through dense cloud, out of sight of the escorts and very hard to follow. With the entire channel available bombers should have time to climb much higher and actually use some of the higher altitude capabilities of western aircraft. Along with this, the ability to at least enable/disable a selection of available mission types would be nice, ideally being able to set biases towards certain types using a slider system or something. But I would at the very least like the ability to outright disable, for example, bomber escort missions, or maybe certain types of ground attack missions from generating. Using the ability to set biases towards missions one could hypothetically make it so that 50% of generated missions in an P-47 career are ground attack missions of some kind, or maybe remove bomber intercepts from the available mission pool so that the career will not generate them. Additionally, the ability to simply communicate with our wingmen could be greatly improved. One issue I frequently run into is losing track of my lead, or the bomber/attacker flight I am covering. Having the ability to call them up and get either a grid location in chat or their current position overlaid on the map akin to the new radar position updates as part of the new V1 intercept mission would be greatly appreciated for quality of life. 5
