343KKT_Kintaro Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 There's one guy in the French-speaking Checksix forums who's asking for a serious modeling of the jail in the city of Amiens. He thinks it would be cool to reenact Operation Jericho, the bombing of the jail by means of a squad of Mosquitoes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Jericho Instead of a correctly modeled jail what we do have in Amiens is a Vauban-style fortification... Could this be fixed, please?

The Vauban fortification is the Citadelle of Amien. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citadelle_d'Amiens Having the jail would be cool, but the location of the jail is too close from the map limit at the east of the city, which seems that you will be off the map. 1
Gingerwelsh Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) You could reproduce the Amiens prison in the correct position, as shown here, but you cannot reproduce an authentic raid, because the approach was from the East and that is off our map, but a cobbled up version is all you can do. The wall is destroyed with a short approach from the East. ... Edited November 9, 2022 by Gingerwelsh 2 1
Obelix Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 There is no need to correct anything. You can use a (British) prison object in the mission editor, quite similar to the Amiens prison, but as Habu says, it will have to be placed west of the city. We (at GCC) plan to do this mission again in multi. But unlike the real mission, there will be no snow on the ground... I live not far from there, and the representation of the city is quite well done, just missing the hortillonages (market gardens at the foot of the cathedral) 1 1

DEDMANcjp Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 We could have Camelot. . On second thought, don't do Camelot. it is a silly place. 1
