76SQN-Minimayhemtemp Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Hi, I've posted this here as it feels software related rather than hardware related. Since the BoN update, and when playing the BoN campaign, I'm experiancing the game pausing/not rendering any updates every 3-5 seconds for 0.5-1 second. I'm flying a British campaign in BoN so starting in Britain and flying over to Northern France. In Britain there are no issues, but as I progress over northern France every 3-5 seconds I get the 0.5-1 second pause. The in-game FPS counter registers 60 fps; and my hardware resource monitor for the CPU and GPU never goes above 60% utilization. My rig: W10 pro i7-9700k clocked at 4.57ghz 32gb DDR4 3600mhz RTX 3070ti M.2 PCI-e 3.0 SSD Q2 VR headset In-game settings (with VR disabled for screenshot) attached. I have a track recording of the flight, but when playing it back there is no pausing at all. That, combined with the fact that the FPS counter is reports back a constant 60 fps, makes me think there is a processing bottleneck in the game somewhere. What do? 1
YogurtLicker Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I have this same issue! my hardware is different to yours though, I have a 5700xt GPU and a 2600x CPU with an Index headset so at least we can narrow down it isn't related to a particular brand. hope a fix is released sometime soon because flying for more than 5 minutes is very nauseating and makes my eyes hurt.
YogurtLicker Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 After messing around in the settings I found that setting the monitor resolution to 720p in-game either reduced or completely stopped the microlag, if you're still having this problem maybe try that and see if it helps?
[CPT]Crunch Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 If your frame rate on the desk top is vastly different than the one your HMD is putting out, that can be a source of stutters. Set your monitors refresh rate to a closer number and see if it helps.
