Exactly !!! If you pay attention you will see those pony drivers were really noobs. They parked behind bombers, they kept firing at very close range outside convergence settings and where any bomber movement will break the fighter pilot aiming. Some of them spent all their ammo scoring only a few hits. This video is a real lesson in how you do not attack bombers and I could not miss the rare oportunity to have fun showing that !! ? The usual bomber mission nowadays is getting the entire crew shot dead by .50s or getting your plane blow up to pieces by enemy´s cannons on the first pass. I got plenty of footage showing that but is bad for morale and the Devs always fix discrepancies in the damage model after sometime. Edited August 22, 2022 by 6./ZG26_Gielow
NN_Razor Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 I agree with the inefficiency of the attack from the full rear (sometimes you can't do otherwise), but most of the time I come across bombers, unescorted (sometimes alone), which in my opinion , is one of the symptoms of too much efficiency of the machine gunners... And at 1'20'', the p51 which arrives from below is destroyed by the gunner of the plane it is attacking...what a reflex! ?

When I am the flight leader I usually leave the aircraft in auto level and I jump to tailgunner. It helps on shooting and better defensive tactics due to situacional awareness. Actually it is easier to hit fighters flying constant heading values on vertical maneuvers. Edited August 22, 2022 by 6./ZG26_Gielow
