I purchased the Fanatec Clubsport V3, it's working fine with some other flight sims, with or without external software, but I don't know how to make it work with IL 2

Could anyone help me, please ?

I watched this video, as I said, with DCS it's fine

Any advices are welcome, thank you

But you have merged two axes of the Fanatec pedals, e.g. the two extreme pads (clutch and accelerator) as one new virtual axis, using Joystick Gremlin, like in this example bellow?

In the example, the left and right axes of brake pads (toe brakes) of CH PRO Pedals are merged in one new virtual axis, called Axis Z Rotation.

Once mixed just go do IL-2 keymapping select Yaw control and assign this new vJoy axis: Z Rotation.

In DCS you don't need merge the axes because there in "Tune axes" have the saturation control, that allow cancel half of each axes.

BTW - In IL-2:GB pressing the button assigned for "Wheel brakes" and moving rudder axis (yaw) for left or right, you brake only the respective wheel (left or right), in any plane.

I'll try later today when I get home

If I remember correctly, I didn't see the vJoy option, as it is in DCS World.

Thank you

Joystick Gremlin - a keymapper, need vJoy installed for handle axes, the physical and create virtual axes.

I have Joystick Gremlin and vJoy

When I select CONTROL YAW, there is no vJoy..

I'll keep trying, thank you

After merge the axis start Windows Game Controllers (joy.cpl) and test there, see what the name of the axis Windows is using.

1 - Merge the axis using Josytick Gremlin as above, using, for example the suggested name "Z Rotation"  for the axis.

2- Open Windows Games Controllers (press Win key + R and type joy.cpl, hit enter).

  • See if the virtual axis "Z Rotation" created by Joystick Gremlin+vJoy appear there, and case positive, make the test to assure functionality.

If all are OK for Windows, now any issue will be in the game side. Rename the file "devices.txt" in game /input folder usually works.

The game don't care if the axis is physical or virtual created by another axis, if work for Windows will work for the game.

Eg. I use the left half - 50 to 0% of VKB Gladiator twist rudder axis for create an new virtual axes that move 0 - 100% (in VKB software, but can do the same with Joystick Gremlin+vJoy), and use this virtual axis as "wheel brakes" command, what work fine.

Since I use VKB T-Rudder for yaw control, have no use for the twist axis.

Point 1 and 2, OKAY

I don't understand this part

"If all are OK for Windows, now any issue will be in the game side. Rename the file "devices.txt" in game /input folder usually works"

I have a file, devices.txt, inside the "input " folder

What exactly do I need to rename ?

Inside the "devices.txt" are those

In your file you have 10 controllers listed, the game only work with 8, so some controller no more used maybe are preventing that the last, the virtual axis of Joystick Gremlin/VJoy, to be detected.

If you attempt to assign the virtual axis in keybinds  and have issues, rename the file "devices.txt" so the game will create a new and detect only the controllers actually plugged.

I renamed this file

No matter what I do, when I assign the YAW, I can only assign one pedal, and that's not okay

I think it's not possible with the V3 pedals

In DCS World, some users with other sim racing pedals, didn't have to use some 3rd party software.

I don't know, I think I give up. The best way to fix it, in my case, is to buy another MCG joystick, with twist ( only for IL 2 sturmovik)

Don't know if it's worth

Thank you so much, anyway

Ah, OK, now things are more clearly.

What happens is that the pedal physical axis still visible for the game,* and since they are used for created the virtual axis will be detected first.

Try the following tip - work with VKB virtual axes, I test with virtual "toe brakes" axes created by VKB Gladiator twist axis.

  • First I face the same issue as you, then find this way:

Press one pedal slight - so the axis read some voltage and hold, then open he Yawn assignment and move that pedal more, this make the virtual axis detected by the game.

* You can hidden that physical axes with Joystick Gremlin plug in, I think HIDGuardian, but avoid use this for don't mess the pedals for racing games.

If don't manage in assign as above, use "force brute", leave one pedal axis assigned (the physical axis), and save.

Close the game and go to /Data/Input folder, open the file Current (Actions) - preferable using Notepad++ , or Notepad, just don't use WordPad, Word and similar.

Find the he line for Yaw input, is "rpc_yaw":

rpc_yaw,                                          joy0_axis_x,                                      0| // Plane control: yaw

Now you need replace joy0_axis_x with the number of JoystickGremlin/vJoy virtual controller, and the name of the virtual axis.

Joy0 is the first controller you see in Windows Game controllers, Joy1 is the second and so on (game code put -1 in that list) and axis name is the one used in Joystick Gremlin when merging the axes, as above "Z Rotation".

If the virtual controller of Joystick Gremlin/vJoy appear in Windows Games controllers as the #6, so is 6-1:, change the line for:

joy5_axis_zrotation (or maybe z_rotation).

You are in right track, don't give up. ;)
