Question about Spit Mk.XIV Tear-drop

Will I be able to use this Spitfire with the Normandy campaign? Normandy premium comes with a regular Griffon but is the pre-order version separate? Will we receive both versions if we purchase the pre-order version, such as a modification? Will it be more like Yak-9 and Yak-9T? Is there any information about this pre-order aircraft?

Separate planes like the Yak9 example.

 

I don't think you'll be able to fly then in the Normandy campaign since they were introduced in 45.

 

My guess is that it will be playable in Bodenplatte campaign.

It'll be a separate airplane with a few unique features. The bubble canopy is the obvious one but also more range thanks to the added fuel tank.

 

As far as service entry, it's firmly in the latter part of the Bodenplatte campaign so you won't see it in the Normandy campaign.

It will be playable in the last chapter of the BoBP career in March 1945.

It will also have a cool gyro-sight which I am looking forward to. I don't really care much for P-51D so I will be using this instead for Bodenplatte servers. Thanks.

The 1944 XIV we have right now has a the same Mark II GGS gyro gunsight.

Either way, since I won't be purchasing Normandy (not interested in the aircraft) and since the Teardrop canopy is my favorite looking Spitfire I will buy nonetheless. I will skip out on the normal XIV due to already purchasing this pre-order one.

Nope. But that doesn't mean that there won't be other scripted campaigns for it

No, my campaign ends February 21st. No. 610 squadron returned in England and was disbanded after this date.

Dear team,

Do we know if the engine will have automatic RPM settings or modernisations of a late variant?

I think that would be great to differenciate both of them. Don't know if it's a post-war thing tho!
