Recording one's flight?

Sorry, I can't remember how one records their sorties. Would someone be kind enough to refresh my memory?

I'd really appreciate that.

Here you go. I've key mapped it to Caps Lock, but some have it on their joystick.

I put it to the key "backspace"

OK, got it to work, thanks.

It doesn't seem to want to record too long though, not even a whole mission, is there any way to change that, or just use it as a "Gun camera"?

It's limited to 500mb. This tool automatically gets around it but you can quickly build up a lot of 500mb files. I usually switch recording off at times when travelling on the long legs to and from the mission area and flick it back on if something interesting looks like it might happen.

Flight recordings don't last. I can't access them after a period of time. How long until they drop off (no longer accessible)?

That's 'cause with each update, your trk files become obsolete.

They usually work until the next update.

Have a nice day.

Does flight reccording impact a lot fps? Especially in VR?

Can a reccording made with VR settings be replayed then with Monitor settings? My VR reccording makes the IL2 application crash when i try to access them with the monitor config.

Now how do you convert them to Mp4 videos? Or better for editing: maybe Mpeg video?

Maybe this video from longstanding member Col Ninny might help:

The easiest way to record screen capture is with Xbox Game bar. It's free and it should already be installed on your computer. Then edit it with the Movies & TV app already on your windows computer.
