Erm...could we maybe find another abbreviation for this, you know, "WC",... means toilet.

Great update!

"Revision" of the damage model. That is a really interesting development which is very good news.

"Revision" of the AI for Single player should also be looked into in the future.

The AI is the single reason I absolutely never play single player.

Thank you team No1 for the continued hard work over the years also.

Wishing all are well. :salute:

For us Simshaker users, will we be able to feel the different bumps in the runway materials?

Han , very well presented DD.

This map with variations is looking something special with revised damage model as icing on the cake.

Although as you said that's the main global change , anticipation max at what the others are.

Another 2 weeks and maybe we find out.

All the best to you and the guys in Moscow for your supreme efforts.

Hello folks, note that the roundabout seen just east of Horsa bridge was not there in 1944:

In fact it wasn't there circa 1955-1965 either:

Anyway, those are some lovely news on the latest DD!

Something I've been thinking a lot about recently, which has been piqued by the announcement of two versions of the map.

Is there going to be different seasons of this map like Winter and Summer?

Nope. I *think* I read somewhere there was going to be an additional spring map, but there won't be autumn and winter versions.

Hi,  just a quick question.

Is the damage model also visually represented?

So,  CloD shows hydraulic leaks and represents these (for example) ; shoot a bombers wing,  damage the hydraulic lines, oil leaks,  pressure drops and slowly a wheel will lower down.  It looks incredibly impressive.

So my question really is,  will similar effects now happen in BoX?

Cheers,  MP

Ah, man, don't ruin it for those of us who wanted to see how the AI handles a roundabout.

@Han:

"As always, all the scenarios generated in the Career mode are unique even if you fly to the same target again - the generated combat situation will be different, while the weather will correspond to the real weather on that day. "

How accurate will the weather be?  Simply cloud/rain/fog, or will the wind patterns and individual clouds also be modelled? You know, for historical accuracy (Mt. Vesuvius, for example).  ;)

Can we have an image of the entire map as we'd see it in FMB?

If there is one already, can anyone point me to it?

A (rough) outline was done some time ago. I'll look around and see if I can find it for you.

The rough map borders are Dunkirk in the northeast, as far west as the Cherbourg Peninsula, and to a point about south/southwest of Pontorson.

I think i posted this question before but didn't get an answer ? Since the map is about half land and half water are we going to see a change in the pilots fate if you bail over the said water?  If not the allies are going to have a high loss rate when flying from England , or Axis if attacking lol. We have our own check your fate program running in the background for our campaigns which randomises the chance of pilot survival , but it would be nice to see it in game.

Hmm.. maybe they could do a small expansion someday with Autumn and Winter pre-invasion maps? Maybe five aircraft (Mustang I, Fw-190A4, Spit-IXc, Do-217E, Boston III) for use in the 1942 era (e.g. Operation Jubilee/Dieppe - which as a landing in 1942 that was successfully repulsed by Germany. It also had a huge air-battle over the landings and possibly the densest in the Western Front... with 72 British Squadrons engaged in multiple sorties as well as the last to see massed daylight German bomber formations in the West - I believe today is the 80th anniversary actually)!

Yes, The Officer's Club post showed the rough changes to the map - but it is still clearly marked as 'not final'... so I'm sure a lot of us are still quite curious what the final boundaries will be.

As for me, I'm quite curious about the details. I think my first two flights when it is released will be to Dieppe and the Isle of Wight... just to see how close they get to the old maps. Honestly, I'm not expecting perfection given the enormous scale of the task. I'm still curious if some of the docks and railways, or forts, will be  there though.

Nah, not really.  As much as I respect the German machines, I don't fly them.  That said, some seaplanes would be an interesting addition at some point.  What I'm really after is Italy/Malta 40-44.  Never been done, a cool mid-late war plane set, possible carrier ops, but I digress.  Let's keep it on topic before Mr. Smith shows up.

FYI A nice faux Malta campaign is available in the form of a third party add-on from some years ago over at CloD.

Please, please, please get the DM right for FLYING CIRCUS, not just WW2.

We've had 2 years of frustrating wing-offs for most planes and it's driven so many players away. The DM must make sense whatever method is used.

We know the devs know, but this is an opportunity to get it right, now.

Beta Testers, please test robustly in MP scenarios. ALL planes.  Thanks

One improvement that would be welcome is the overdone in other planes engine noise that you can hear inside the cockpit when the planes are aproaching from 6

I think it'll be a fair bit longer vertically, seeing as there is a screenshot of RAF Manston in the original post which is even further north than Broadstairs.

EDIT: Call me a liar it seems it'll justttt fit!

Great effort Han and Team,

Looking forward to making some missions with both the 'before' and 'after' D Day maps, there is so much historical material at that time to work on and we have a fantastic collection of aircraft. As 'Lythronax' mentioned above, RAF Manston had a screenshot so the proposed map will be vertically lengthened a bit, which is good.

Keep up the excellent work.

I'm really looking forward to the new map, it looks to be the best so far. Thanks for all the hard work, guys!

I know that new aircraft seem to get the most attention, but i would really love to see the addition of mini-modules centered around new maps that could be implemented integrating the existing planeset into different theaters, e.g. Leningrad or Sicily. It would be a way to keep things interesting for everyone between the major releases, both the onliners and offliners.

It's really amazing how BOS has evolved, and it was great from the start. Kudos.
