Greetings!

I just got an Ultrawide Monitor 40" WQHD 3440 x 1440p and I'm super excited to fly with it however,,,

3440 x 1440 is not current a resolution I can choose in game settings

1920 x 1080 is the highest the game screen resolution setting currently offers me. This is what I previously used with a Samsung TV I was utilizing as a monitor. This is way too stretched out to enjoy lol.

Any help is gratefully accepted.

If nothing else seems to work, Check in your startup.cfg file. Look for height and Width and input the proper resolution there.

Editing the startup.cfg works. The issue then becomes the graphics options menu is not useable because the screen resolution box defaults to 640 x 480.
I imagine making it read only? Then I would need to learn the startup.cfg in its entirety and disregard the in-game menu.

A question: Did you install the specific drivers for your new monitor? Or did you just plug and play? It might help Windows know what you have and there by help the game "see" your setup. (If my understanding holds any water...)

Something isn't being detected right on your system or you can try a new install to see if the option shows up maybe somethings corrupted - if Steam try verify files. The game offers much higher than 1920x1080, I run 3440x1440 which I select through the GUI.

Latest drivers for your video card installed? And Windows is running at that resolution?

I also play at that resolution, without troubles, Il2 accept it. I think that you need however to use a proper display port to use that resolution. HDMI lacks bandwidth in my understanding...

There are five settings you need to check in startup.cfg for the UI to be properly set up to use an Ultrawide Monitor.

    full_height = 1440
    full_width = 3440

    win_height = 1440
    win_width = 3440

    scale = -1
