Blitzen Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 I remember in the now ancient original Il-2 Sturmovik , they brought out a V-1 for game use, but I never encountered one in all the various SM or Careers, I flew .They may have been there either on launch sights or in flight, but I just never ran across one .That being said, perhaps the developers could tell us how they will show up & be useful when they are introduced here? Will they show up in Quick Missions when players fly Tempest over the Channel, or when SM mission builders build them somehow into missions with "apt" aircraft like later Spitfires or Tempests? How about late war campaigns when RAF aircraft could be scrambled and vectored to a likely intercept or patrol area? I such a case would there be multiple V-1's, because one V-1 ( as in real life,) is an extremely tough target to see and then catch up to, of course that may be the point. I wonder what their targets will be- certainly not London...so then what Invasion Channel ports or Invasion Beaches? Don't get me wrong I like the novelty of the V-1 being in the game, but do wonder how much they will show up in game play .Dev's? Ideas?
Rjel Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 As I remember it, there was a mission where you started in the air flying a P-51 circling over an island with a V-1 ramp. You could dive on the V-1 and catch it pretty easily. Or you could follow it until it impacted a land mass in the distance. It’s been a long time since I played the old IL-2 but that’s how I remember it. 2
1CGS LukeFF Posted August 18, 2022 1CGS Posted August 18, 2022 V-1 intercept missions are planned for career mode. 2
Jaegermeister Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 What Luke said ^^ plus you should be able to set up V-1 launch site hunts in single missions. From what I gather so far, you will be able to trigger them to launch with any normal trigger like checkzone or proximity. This is not confirmed yet of course.
