SittingDuckDafug Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Hello Developer: Is it possible to output more arguments via the telemetry port? - Bomb door status - Temperatures - Light states - Fuel quantity would be very nice. Even though the button assignments are already very extensive, as a hotas owner with changeover switches I would be very happy if you had the same choice more often as with the landinggear. Either one button for on and off or one button for on and another for off. It would be especially nice to be able to - engine start, - compressor (gear 1/gear 2), - the bomb bay door - airbrake - the lights Thank you very much for your great work. Keep up the good work
AEthelraedUnraed Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Ehm, what exactly is it you're asking? All of the things you mention already have key assignments.
SittingDuckDafug Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 I apologize if I have expressed myself in a misleading way. I hope that it will be more understandable this way: Right now I can assign up to three buttons to change the light status. From on to off and back. Let's say "A." When I press "A" first, the light goes on. The second time I press "A" it goes off and so on. There is only one option line with 3 different keys for it: Button 1, 2 or 3 = Nav Lights on/off. But I would like to have 1 button to turn it on that doesn't turn it off when I press it again. And another switch to turn it off only. On Gear there are 3 different button options: Button 1 = gear up/down (for those who want to use only one button), or: Button 2 = gear up button 3 = gear down for Nav Lights (and the others) it could be the same: Button 1 = Nav Lights on/off (for those who only want to use a single button), or: Key 2 = Nav Lights on Button 3 = Nav Lights off So all these nice flip switches make sense in IL-2.
AEthelraedUnraed Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Ah right, I understand now. You should take a look at the driver software for your setup. I have no experience with Virpil, but at least for Thrustmaster, it's possible to configure what action a certain key has. So for your setup, it should be possible to program one of those toggle switches to emulate a key press when you toggle it on, and emulate that same keypress again when you toggle it off. After a quick Google search, I think the Virpil VPC Software might be what you're looking for. Look at the documentation, under Button Settings. I think "Mode Switch" is exactly what you're looking for. Just set the toggles to function in Switch mode, and they should work exactly as you want
SittingDuckDafug Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 yes, that's how I set it up, but with my landinggear I can be sure that when the switch is on "up", the landing gear is also up and the other way around. With the other functions, some of the switches are in the off position and the function is on. This causes my status lights on the controller to light up that it's off, and my position lights to stay on cheerfully. I know it's a luxury problem, but if it could be fixed more or less easily, it would have been just nice.
