I think I will order some prescription lenses for my Reverb g2.

They have something called Blueprotect, that can be added.

What is that and is it worth the 30 euro increase of the price?

Those of you who ordered to the g2, did you leave your regular far away prescription?

I read that the g2 has a shorter focal distance than most other headsets and I am curious to find out if the regular prescription worked fine for you?

I have only read about this company, is there any other recommended alternatives on the European market?

Have ordered from them twice, once Odyssey+ and once G2. Delivery to Canada was on time and as committed.  I ordered blue light protection and while I can’t compare to not having, no eye fatigue or anything while using.  I would send them your full prescription and let them do their job.  I have one eye that is near sighted, one farsighted and both with astygmatism and a lens implant in left eye so they had their work cut out for them.  Happy customer

Thanks for the information.

Do you experience a yellow tint in the picture with this Blueprotect?

I read that some people have complaints about this, but maybe it depends from what company choose?

I have been running VR Optician Lens with the blue light filter for a few months now with my Aero.

Supposed to be better on the eyes - I don't know really, but I see no adverse affects from it - can't really tell a difference.

When I got my prescription from my eye doc I asked him about that , he said it is a good thing to have for doing things on a monitor then went into some technical jargon I would probably never understand. But I got prescription reading glasses from him as well with the blue light filter.

Did you experience any yellow tint? I suppose that it should be most noticeable when looking at white objects.

Look into Reloptix lenses. My last set for a RiftS from VRopticians worked out fine. I just got a Reloptix set for my G2 and they're half the price, blue and AR coating included.

I use VR optician lenses without the blueprotect.

Don't have discomfort or any other issues, although I'm unlikely to use the HMD for more than around 3hrs at any one time.

Thanks for your advice. However since I am living in Europe I pay 65 euro for lenses from VrOptician (+30 euro with Bleu protection).

Reloptix would cost me 80$ plus taxes and customs fees, so in my case that would be more expensive.

But it is always good to find out about alternative products.

Use lesnes from Vropticians for both my quest2 and my G2 vr without that blue light filter. No problem so far i  am a happy customer too. Just gave them my prescription and vr device i would use. Dont mess with a probably different focal distance of G2 just let them do their job.

Thanks, I haven't decided yet if I should get the Blueprotect or not.

I will see my optician tomorrow so I will ask for her opinion.

I almost never use my HMD for more than 2 hours in one sitting, so maybe it's not necessary?

You are right, I am not going to complicate stuff more than necessary!

The blue light protection is good but it will leave a slight yellow tint.  Looking at your white computer screen (for instance) and lowering your glasses with Blue light protection and you'll see a pure white screen from a tinted yellow stained or nicotine covered looking screen.

As a result of the yellow tint from my first prescription lenses, I ordered my other lenses without blue light protection.  For me, IL-2 looks fairly drab and washed out in VR already so the added yellow tint just makes it look worse IMO.

I have VR Wave, 2 sets one for my Quest 2 and one for my G2. Both have blue light filter & anti-glare, happy with both sets, great customer service, around $120.

Thanks for your input.

Since you have used Blueprotect before, and now go without it, do you experience any more eye strain compared to before?

I usually never play more than 2 hours, maybe that is not long enough to make a difference?

Do you feel that the yellow tint makes it harder to spot and identify object in the sim or was it only an "estetic" drawback?

I am in Europe so it will be cheaper ordering from a European based company.

Have you been using a set without the blue light filter?

If yes, I am interested in how you experienced the difference between the two.

I don't have any eye strain from VR without the blue light protection and I use it upwards to 2-3 hours at times.  I think it's a good idea to use blue light protection though, so have prescription glasses with it for using with my CPU, but for IL-2 in VR not anymore.  Spotting wise, imagine a slight light tan filter over your lenses, doesn't help spotting because all colours are faded slightly and look duller, IMO.

I have now received my inserts from VrOptician and tried them out for the first time today.

Had a bit of struggle to mount them on my G2. The right one snapped in place at first try but the left insert gave me some headache. It probably took me 10 minutes before it was in place, after trying every possible method I could think of.

The picture is now crisper but the surprise to me was that the sweetspot got much bigger!

Since the G2 has a very small sweetspot, this was a big improvement to me!

Have you also experienced a bigger sweetspot when using inserts?

I used the Reloptix inserts and, yes it became much clearer and larger with them than without.
