FC Vol II NEW MAPS????

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just purchased FC Vol II expecting new maps & campaigns. But it's just the same as FC Vol I but with new airplanes. The new airplanes are not why I purchased FC Vol II. Is there a mistake on my part? Or is FC Vol II still being developed? I would like to see a FC Vol that has Fokker E-Is to E-IIIs & Albatros DIIIs with corresponding Entente airplanes.

FC2 is still in development. They are still working on the map, career mode, and the photo recon and artillery spotting missions (fingers crossed both recon and arty are available in MP, arty was SP only in RoF). There are also two brand new collector planes being developed, which can be seen in some of the dev diaries.

There has also been mention that there are more FC volumes on the way.

In the General section of the FC forum there is a thread called "FC Vol 4" that discusses desired planes for future development since FC Vol 3 was confirmed at the same time FC2 was announced. The planes for FC3 have not been announced yet, but since they are all ports from RoF, we can look at the list of what remains and make a few guesses.

Here is a list of the planes in RoF that have not been ported over yet.

Central planes:

Fokker E.III

Halberstadt D.II

Albatros D.II

Albatros D.III

Roland CIIa (2-seater)

Brandeburg W12 (2-seat float plane)

Entente planes:

Airco DH.2

Nieuport 11

Nieuport 17.C1 (including French, British, and Russian variants)

Hanriot HD.1

Sopwith Pup

Sopwith 1-1/2 strutter (including single seat B variant)

FE.2b (2-seater, also suitable as late war night bomber)

RE-8 (2-seater)

Felixstowe F.2A (twin engine flying boat)

Sikorsky S-16

Ilya Muromets (four engine)

I'd bet we see FC3 include the following planes for Germany: Roland CIIa (two seater), Albatros D.III, Albatros D.II and D.II late, Halberstadt D.II, and Fokker E.III. For Britain and France, I'd guess Airco DH.2, Nieuport 11, Nieuport 17, Sopwith Pup, Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter (two-seat fighter and one-seat bomber), FE.2B (two seater), and RE-8 (two seater). There's a decent chance of the Hanriot HD.1 as well. The two seaplanes (Brandenburg W12 and Felixstowe F.2A) and the giant Ilya Muromets seem unlikely (lack of appropriate Channel map and need for 4 engines). There is a distinct lack of prey for the early Fokker, the German 2-seat lineup is a bit thinner than the Entente, and the Entente two-seaters are a bit more British than French. Discussion of what new planes we want to see is mostly taking place in the FC Vol 4 thread, and there are plenty of possibilities that are discussed there. Hopefully this helps clarify what is currently announced and being developed, as well as what we are likely to see in the future.

I suspect an EIII is unlikely to ever arrive unless they decide to do a full module of early planes, which I suspect they won't.

Unfortunately.

13 planes in a single module....that cost many, many rubles.
