Full Mission Builder - Am I Missing Something?

Sorry if this topic is covered somewhere else. I did not find it in a quick search.

 

I am returning to CLoD after a bit of an absence and I am having some trouble with the FMB.  I have used it in the past but now I cannot seem to get it to recognize my LMB click.  I can't pan the map with the LMB.  I can't seem to select objects.  CTRL-LMB doesn't add a new object.

 

Did I miss a memo?  Or I have i just forgotten something?

Don't remember that can pan in FMB with mouse, but that need use the horizontal and vertical scroll bars - what is tedious.

I´m in the same boat as Sidekick65 above: FMB not responding to left- or right-click from mouse.  When I try to follow HeinKill´s FMB for Dummies example at https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3423371/il2-cliffs-of-dover-full-mission-builder-for-dummies, it gets to Step 7 and will not respond.  That is, I cannot move waypoints or even raise a properties window.  Very frustrating!  HOURS spent trying to find a solution on the boards with no luck, so thought I´d ask.

FMB looks to have great potential, but I don't think it's very user-friendly. I was hoping for a YouTube guide about how to make missions.

if you try searching for "Cliffs of Dover mission builder" on Youtube, you will find many videos showing what you can do in the mission builder.

Some of these videos are quite old but I think the mission builder has not changed much since that time.

I've found a couple from players, but I thought Team Fusion was going to make a video FMB guide. I expect that may have been their intention years ago, but they've already got too much on their plate, so to speak.

Hi All

On the subject of FMB........

Does anyone know how to get the Ju87s to dive bomb properly?

I have tried for ages with different settings w.r.t. speed, height, waypoint distance from target, multiple waypoints etc etc but to no avail.

The aircraft in question bomb the target correctly but I often find [ after setting the # of passes to 1 ] they return to strafe the target ( and receive another dose of flak ) and then perform barrel rolls and more than often crash into the ground.

The other question I have is, does the number of passes function work or is it another of CoD's quirks?

It is most frustrating to set up a mission with Ju87s only to lose most of the Staffel during the bombing, with the net result of "Mission Failure"

I find the problem even worse when setting a Ju88 up for dive bombing.... poor blighters just end up crashing into the sea. [set up in DWT attacking convoys ]
