stevinne Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I've had Woff for two days now. The first day it ran fine. Second day it crashed. OK, that's understandable. But the crash message said to contact support, so I went to their website lo find an email. There was nothing. I expect better from a game that isn't necessarily cheap.
Tycoon Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Try the sim hq forum, devs are active there at least when I used it a while ago.
busdriver Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Also try Combat Ace forums Polovski hangs out there as well. But be advised, he will ask you if you have exhausted the troubleshooting provided in the FAQs, as noted in the SImHQ thread.
danielprates Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Pardon my ignorance, but... WOFF? Does it have anything to do with Blackadder's Flasheart? 1
Majpalmer Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 I played WOFF for years. I bought the latest version. I think it was the third or fourth. It was a great at the time. Even when RoF first came out, I stuck with WOFF because it had a campaign game and far more planes. But it still is running over Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3, which is 20 years old. It's amazing what they've managed to do with it, but, in my opinion, it's had its day. About the only plus I can see is the extensive list of flyable aircraft.
stevinne Posted August 9, 2022 Author Posted August 9, 2022 I decided to try WOFF because I'm halfway through a career in ROF and getting tired of really, really bad AI. Basically the allied planes fly a couple of thousand feet above me, ignore me until I climb up and start shooting and then circle around until I shoot them down. I figured WOFF might provide a better career experience. I did finally track down an email address, emailed my problem and they responded quickly. But, they also said, basically, that they keep their email off their support page to avoid spam. I understand that, but I also feel like finding a support email should be something easy enough to accomplish and not a matter of sleuthing around. I couldn't imagine my company allowing me to hide my email address to help me avoid spam. I think you can get away with that when it's a labor of love, but when you're charging $40+ for a game, it shouldn't require jumping through hoops to contact someone. I know to them it's not a lot of money, but to me it's about what I spend for a really good game. Call me silly, but when I need support, I want to find it on the support page.
