Barn-Owl Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I have all of my controls (Virpil joystick, throttle and rudder) assigned in the game, but I would like to calibrate the joystick for the game (IL-2 Cliffs of Dover). Is this done within the game, or is it just a Windows 11 calibration? Thanks in advance.
Barn-Owl Posted August 7, 2022 Author Posted August 7, 2022 So how do I do it within the game? Please do elaborate!
9./JG52_J-HAT Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Hi Friction, do you mean calibrate as in setting dead bands and linearity? If so, there are sliders for each axis in the axes control tab (options, control, second tab, where you assign your axis) with response bars right under them. You can set the values from 0 to 1 and set dead bands to tweak how the responses will be. You can test it by observing the green bars moving and the values shown (input and output). Hope this helps. If you mean really calibrating as in setting the proper values for min and max for the joystick axis, then it‘s better to follow the manufacturer‘s instructions. For my VKB, MFG and Virpil gear I have to use their respective programming softwares. Not even windows calibration should be used. 1

Only use Windows calibration, if the controller (stick, pedal...) don't have their own software to do, if have - like VirPil, VKB, WingWing, Tm... use the manufacturer software. Windows tool is the same since Win95.
