I tried to download the new patch with the Me410 and it downloads the patch starts to install and says " failed to update" so I try again. Same thing. Deleted update folder and try again. "failed to update"

I'v deleted and re downloaded it 4 or 5 times now.... Failed to update.

Deleted the whole Updates folder and next run of the updater analysed files and downloaded... this time it started the game and then said screen shot. No explanation of how I'm supposed to do that. I can't find a repair or scan function.  I found a update log that said skins17 corrupt. SO I deleted re-scanned and it still wont work.

Downloaded and installed new patch on 2nd August through the launcher and now today it no longer works. The program doesn't even launch, says its not responding in task manager. Running windows 10 all updated. Not sure whats up. Are the servers down?

Okay Thanks for replies guys. I'll  explain how I got my install working in the hope it might help someone. There is no repair feature of the launcher but you can do it your self manually... Sigh.

You have to delete the whole updates folder.  Not just the recent update Folder the whole thing inside IL-2 folder.

Then run the launcher and it will be unable to find the update history so it will analyse  the whole install. this will take 5 mins. It will try to update again and start. It  won't work but it will create the updates folder again and inside this folder you will find a "Last Update" text file.  Open that and look for a file that has failed the hash test. Then delete that file and run the launcher update.

Rinse, repeat.

I had to do this a couple of times. I had a Skins 17 and Skin 19 files in the Data folder that were corrupted and once I deleted them, ran launcher it downloaded them.

It now works.

Outrageous that there is no repair button that automates this process. But here we are. Good luck.

I seem to be having trouble with finding which files are causing the issue for me. Update installed, and the game worked fine yesterday. It almost seems like it's my custom photos, but I didn't think those could ever be a problem. Any other ideas as to what it could be?

Edit: Tried removing all the custom photos, startup.cfg, and the snapviews mentioned in the file. Ran this multiple times, and I'm still getting a failed to update message. I hope I don't have to reinstall.

Edit: 08/04/22. Resolved the issue. Running Windows 11. I turned off my antivirus, went into folder properties, and changed ownership permissions of the folder as well as all files inside to myself. Went back into properties and removed the read only attribute for the game folder as well as all subfolders and files. Deleted the update folder. Ensured the launcher is set to run as administrator. Ran the launcher again, and the update installed without issue.
