A question about the bombers

I have a question about the bomber formations in IL-2 was it accurate for bombers even the He-111 to fly in a right edge formation? I thought that was a ground attack formation or a fighter formation, but my knowledge on such matters in lacking. I was asking because I was wonder why the career has the player bomber groups flying in a right edge formation.

IIRC, the basic German bomber formation was a "Kette" of three aircraft in V formation, with larger formations often consisting of several such Vs.

I was just wondering because it just seemed odd to me that they would have the flights of bomber formations that the player were in to be right edge formations, hence why I asked
