clickable cockpits, option for key bind and or clickable.

any chance we can get clickable cockpits? with all the aircraft we have, it's just too damn many key binds, best case would be an option to make any function key bind --or-- clickable === it would make using all the aircraft much easier, and in my opinion more realistic -- IE -- reaching for switches and buttons.  and others could be key bind. for a more efficient cockpit command and control.  10 bizzilion key binds can be overwhelming.

This subject has been covered many times over the years.  The developers have stated repeatedly that "click pits" are not going to happen in this title.

For one it would require re making every cockpit panel on every plane in the sim, not to mention the programming involved to make all the switches actually do something.

As to the realism argument, what is so realistic about hovering a cursor over a virtual switch and right clicking a mouse as opposed to actually using your hand to work a real switch on a throttle quadrant, or keyboard?

understood = never mind === reason being, have you noticed all the diff aircraft and all the diff a/c  eng or weapons functions management?  key binding for one aircraft could and are diff in some other aircraft -- IE   more or less or diff bindings.

Did you miss the 2nd latest DD?  In the next update we're getting customizable key bindings per aircraft.  No more resetting our key bindings when we change aircraft.  Set it up once and change it when we add new hardware!

yes thanks, I did see that, that is still going to be a shit load of keys and binding to setup and remember, I still think and would like clickable for majority of cockpit switches

once somewhat familiarized with a cockpit, you could just look around to find the switch /button   and click, using the bindings for the more primary and most used controls, it is what it is, I will just have to live with it and fly fewer types of a/c.

at 65 years old, I have a hard enough time remembering where I left my coffee cup, let alone all those Damn bindings.  maybe I will just pic 4 or 5 a/c and just fly them.

and if they ever come out with the Yak 3?  will add that one to the list, I don't bother with any AXIS a/c just because of all the bindings to remember.

sticking with P47 / A20 /P40 /P39 /P38 / P51B/ MOSSIE / IL2/ PE-2/HURRICAINE /SPIT /   waiting on the YAK3 /B25/ AND ALLIED PACIFIC A/C ==seems i have overextended myself = going to have to thin the herd? ..............

Considering the axis aircraft have like half as many functions as allied aircraft do that's an odd take.

if I remember correctly some axis a/c have diff specific type systems / nomenclature which would mean another diff key to bind, does not matter, I have enough on my plate without adding more = optional click pits = Better =just my opinion and I am sticking to it.  to each his own.

This never use to bother me, but as they have been adding additional cockpit systems (fuel, complex autopilots, gun sights) it’s starting to become more of an issue with complex key commands.

With the key binds set for the P47 you can fly any German fighter except that you have to bind stabilizer to the same buttons you‘ve set elevator trim.

Btw I absolutely see the benefit of clickpits or even Clod-style half clickpits - yet the devs arguement of workload in comparison to that benefit also makes perfect sense to me.

Guys,

I'm sorry, but we are not going to make clickable cockpits for the Great Battles series. To even attempt that at this point, is a fools errand. Way way too much work the engine is not designed for it. This is something that has to be included from the very start to work as you would like it to.
