KennyKennysF250 Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 (edited) Hi all... I'm trying to get back into IL-2 with VR after having one of the earlier oculus head sets a couple of years ago. I've built a new PC and just purchased the Rev 2 G2 and am really struggling to get things playing nicely and being very un PC savy am hoping to find some help here... My system is an AMD Ryzen7 5800x, 3080ti and 32gb Ram. I was hoping and expecting this to be perfectly up to the job (which it should be ) but I'm currently seeing none of visual clarity mentioned about the G2, to me it currently looks no better than the Oculus in that it's very blurred and I'm constantly in the 45fps zone. If anyone could point me to an up to date settings guide i could study/implement I'd appreciate it, better still if anyone fancies taking me under their wing then even better. Thanks in advance. paul_leonard Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Look up the following thread in this forum. It’s from January of this year. Should help. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x/ Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080Ti settings.
Chilli_40 Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 (edited) I have the exact same pc spec's as you, other than I upped mine to 64Gb ram. I also changed over from the Oculus Quest 2 to the G2, I found personally you're not going to see a huge difference between the two. Really the only difference I found was higher frame rates, I went from an average of 50fps to 90fps average. Have you installed fsholgers, Openvr_fsr_v2.11, it's a huge game changer for fps. and it will help with sharpening up the image quality. Traffic Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Turn off reprojection within MWR. That was the same for me, locked at 45FPS, until I did that. Set Steam resolution to 100%, not 46 or 48% like others have done. Then adjust the Steam resolution multiplier at 25%, then work your way up until you're happy. There's also an app called Sky Spaces. It loaded an empty room into WMR instead of endless rooms filled with visuals that you aren't using and are eating frames. Its 2MB to download and insert it into WMR. AMD 5600 with Nvidia 3090. It took me the better part of 3 weeks to get my G2 dialed in. Simply turning off my monitor was good for 5-7FPS. You should be at or around 90FPS with killer clarity with a 3080, but even the G2 is taxing on my 3090. 1
ACG_Ginger Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Turn off steam and play through Open composite.
