So I did install OpenXR + OpenComposite and when I try to launch Il-2 I just get a black screen and then this one:

"Application not responding"

What am I missing?

Yes, no problem.

Any other mods like fholger's FSR thing? Have to remove them first I believe. General game mods are OK.

So when you say you are "installing OpenXR", what do you mean exactly? OpenXR Toolkit? Or the OpenXR Tools available on the Mircosoft Store?

The OpenXR Tools available on the Mircosoft Store.

Tried in DCS and it works. So it seems related to Il-2.

Not necessarily. OpenComposite is a third-party hack that is not officially supported by any game. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's not a game's fault when it doesn't.

I'm using the old "Oculus only" version of OpenComposite to run IL-2 myself and it's fine. I was actually going to try the latest version today, just to see if it offers anything useful when combined with OpenXR Toolkit. If I get time to do so, I'll let you know if it works.

I tried the latest version of OpenComposite with my Rift S, and it worked absolutely fine. Just dropped the file into the correct folder, and fired it up. Sorry mate, I don't know why it's not working for you. ?

Ok I uninstalled my graphic card's pilots and now it's running fine! Tweaking time now.

Thanks for your time. ?
