Nice, all the updates and work yall do is always appreciated. cheers

Hi Jason,

Any chance we got unique engine key assignment for prop feathering with this update?

Having to select engine to feather while on fire is a drag.

Thanks

:salute:

Another nice step forward in the GB experience. Nice work and nice timing (for Normandy).

Thanks a lot. I've been waiting for custom profiles for a long time :)

Maybe a dumb question, but we will able to set the axis variations along with keybindings for each different plane?

Regardless, what I saw in the the vid is a good feature for FC at the least.

Nice work 1C.

Edit: Earlier, somehow, I only saw the part of the video where you change the pitch center point profile and you actually flew the DR1 to demo this in sim. Now after viewing the entire video I can wholeheartedly say, 'GOOD SHOW' gents. Whomever designed and then implemented this new custom mapping feature deserves a pay raise. Having the 'Global' profile as the base is brilliant, going one step beyond DCS's Hotas setup. Create one or two profiles and keep it simple for those that want that or make a custom profile for every Kite you fly if you like. Awesome, and the Axis center point adjustment caters to just what FC needs if one doesn't like the default setup. Everyone should be happy with this new tool. So long to keeping custom profiles in JSGME manually.

Thank you 1C!!!

S!,

I know this might be a silly question, but how does this react to inputs assigned to tanks? Currently, there are some assignments in flight that translate over into vehicles with unintended results. I've tried in the past to reassign these keys to different inputs, but the problem remained.  For instance, say I want to raise my seat in a plane and assign a key to that plane. I jump over to tanks and try to rise up in the commander position. Unfortunately, the key doesn't work.  Just a small example of the key mapping problem sometimes found in Tank Crew vs GB.

Thank you very, very, very much. I've been waiting for this feature for a long time. I suppose I have some kind of OCD with the plane controls and I like to set them in the most similar way I can from the cockpit. If some control is in a button, set it in a button too; if it is in a siwtich, in another switch too. Now I had to close the game and copy the current.cations file in the input folder from a selection I have and then restart it again. This will save time and be much more comfortable, now!

Thanks so much for this!

I'm really happy about the custom profiles but pitch adjustment is great too. I actually prefer the realistic way to fly the Dr.1 and Camel but after an hour or so the force feedback system on my joystick smells like overheating electronics so I'll pick slightly lower realism over my joystick burning out. ?

I’m not experienced enough to mess with and comment on custom input profiles, but custom/individual key mapping for individual planes have been a much wanted feature from my personal perspective.

 Thanks!

Simply - yes.

As a Il-2 GB customer, I appreciate the attention to detail and flexibility that this sort of enhancement provides - even if personally I don't particularly care about or would use such a customization.

In the settings there are a few small but important functions that I despair of since long time like setting cooler shutters for Bf 110 (oil+water) or He 111 (oil) separately for each engine or set the feathering separately for each engine. Will there be a chance this problems can handle in the future? Maybe solve it with this new feature? ?

This will be a good step forward for the sim over all.  With more and more new aircraft, often that have different control schemes and button/axis assignments, and our controllers not magically sprouting more buttons and levers, this will help ease the madness that assigning controls is starting to become.

I'm looking forward to assigning machine-guns and cannons to more accurate positions on the sticks for each aircraft.

Being able to do aircraft specific key assignments is definitely a very welcome addition ?Looking forward to the next update, hoping the Normandy Map drops with it too!

Could you make the Menu (Esc) function assignable? I fly VR and need to have Joy2key running for that one key bind.

This is awesome and very much needed. Now if we can have a way to make single throw switches work as on/off like has been done in DCS it will be perfect. Once again, fantastic support of your customers guys…IL2 is still streets ahead of the competition in this regard

Brilliant. Thank you. Just one note. Could you change Joy0, Joy1, Joy2, etc., to joystick, throttle, or rudder something like that? It's a pain when something goes wrong and joy0 which used to be the joystick suddenly starts to refer to a throttle. It takes a while to remap all the keys based on the new reference.

Yeah,  its a great feature to have and should help people get comfortable in FC planes more quickly and hopefully fly them more.

The pitch offset is nice for level flight on a few planes, but pretty sure it'll impact handling characteristics in a fight.  I'll be interested to see what the current Dr1/Camel hotshots end up doing.  They may not like using too much offset.

Definitely need to pick up flying circus at some point.

Been waiting for this feature.
As in ROF I will use it for the planes that need it on my setup.

You guys are great!

Thank you team!

Ok, looking forward to this, but...

Will it also add the missing settings for controlling every engine unit of a more engine plane directly?

Taken from the 'current.actions' file

### MISSING for every engine as separate option
### No possibility to address option for an engine directly
### No possibility to open/close radiators stepwise for engines directly
### Only working if radiator is addressable by axis
### or by using the 'Engine selection' before and use the 'global' key...

        all_engines_props_feathering,                     key_lcontrol+key_s,                               0| // Segelstellung: ein/aus

        all_engines_oil_radiators_control_mode,           key_rwin+key_r,                                   0| // Steuerungsmodus des Ölkühler ändern: manuell/automatisch
        all_engines_oil_radiators_open,                   ,                                                 0| // He-111, Bf-110 Ölkühler: eine Stufe öffnen
        all_engines_oil_radiators_close,                  ,                                                 0| // He-111, Bf-110 Ölkühler: eine Stufe schließen

        all_engines_water_radiators_control_mode,         key_rcontrol+key_k,                               0| // Steuerungsmodus des Wasserkühlers ändern: manuell/automatisch
        all_engines_water_radiators_open,                 ,                                                 0| // Bf-109/110 und britische Flugzeuge Wasserkühler: öffnen
        all_engines_water_radiators_close,                ,                                                 0| // Bf-109/110 und britische Flugzeuge Wasserkühler: schließen

And I don't know if there are more needed options missing...

This helps people minimize the hardware they need, reducing the total cost to play the game. So it benefits current customers, and potentiates new customers.

Thank you!

This is the best DD ever produced since the start of this francaise.

Way to go.?

Now I can fly JU 52 with all controls the way I like it with no hazzle. It make this game worth twice the money

Wonderful feature, thank you. ?

When the P-47 came out it started getting harder to fly a lot of aircraft with the same control assignments.  Speaking as one who loves tinkering with all the levers and buttons, thank you so much!

I just want to express how rare it is for a company to revisit their UI, and it sometimes is so frustrating to me.  some of these simulator products, like IL2 or DCS, even MSFS, will be making money year over year for up to a decade and not just task at least one single UI engineer and designer to keep the interface evolving with the game and user needs.

Fantastic, and keep it up! there is still a lot that could use some reiteration.  The ability to export/import these settings is critical. (for over six years now, i have mostly only dealt with IL2 controller settings through its .ini files instead of the UI. I have a robust TARGET profile - a workaround for the lack of this feature we are getting soon! - that i needed to ensure the DX and ID correlation never gets out of alignment with the game. )

Will be possible to create custom responses for throttle axis?

Just how much are we talking here?

I would like to have the option to be able to change the maximum limit of the elevator (100% of the physical joystick and only 90% within the game, for example)

Oh blank-a-dy, blank, blank! Didn't think anyone would be interested, so I deleted them. just cost me at least 10 cent per file.?‍♂️

When....as it stands key mapping is so convoluted, today i can't assign a bind to F8 tomorrow who knows perhaps i should check if i can bind anything perhaps its the time of day or the weather perhaps it's me

I'm a generic kinda guy who likes to map similar functions of planes to same assignments but there are some planes that need more than others.

I have used assigning keyboard and HOTAS assignments to those specific aircraft functions i.e. LH CTRL + Joy slider 1 for turbo lever activation instead of just Joy Slider 1 which would cover Fuel Mixture.  Using LH CTRL for additional engine functions, LH ALT for Lights, LH Shift for Weapons and so on and so on.

Gave me a lot of functionality from my stick whilst keeping me still mainly hands on.  Flying in VR, I want to keep it as common as possible between planes.  Not sure how this individualization will change things but will look at it when I can.  Not a fan of the DCS version though - having to map individual aircraft before having reasonable functionality.  Tend to prefer map once and maybe tweak map as needed for extra functions....

Good stuff! But, if I choose to change nothing, will I still need to remap my controls?

Good question.  Based upon the video provided of the in development feature, I'd say no. Looks like you can leave everything in the default settings.  But...purely speculation, on a not yet released update.

No you shouldn’t need to do that. Just set up your global profile and use like you do now.
