Team Fusion ATAG_Pattle Posted July 21, 2022 Team Fusion Posted July 21, 2022 Hi All, Here is our first Cliffs of Dover Blitz combat sortie video featuring the work in progress of TrueSky. As you can see, the level of immersion in the cockpit, along with the real life difficulties TrueSky will give to players is next level! Video also features WIP 4K terrain and aircraft, including the WIP 4K Spitfire cockpit! All features are part of an upcoming massive graphics update, including the implementation of VR. Mission featured the 48 aircraft from the RAF (12 x Sptfire's, 12 x Hurricane's) and Luftwaffe (24 x Bf-109E-4's) going head to head over Dover. Regards, TFS Team. 28 2 2

Team Fusion ATAG_Pattle Posted July 21, 2022 Author Team Fusion Posted July 21, 2022 Just waiting for the 4K version to be available to view. Youtube is a bit slow in that regard tonight.. 2
timothy55 Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 (edited) Battle of Britain in VR , 4K, TrueSky , I have been dreaming of this for so long. Pattle your video shows some of the progress made in the coming upgrade, excellent! This will be worth the wait. Edited July 21, 2022 by timothy55 1 1
Mysticpuma Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Very nice to see it in action finally. Looking forward to the next one (maybe Luftwaffe at dawn or sunset?). Cheers, MP 1

At around 3:14 that 109 rolls about a full roll in 1-2 sec. Would it be possible to, like, double that? In a real Spit or a Mustang, you‘d go like 90 degrees or so in a second if you have to initiate the roll. And I don’t think the 109E plays in a different league there. And much less degrees at diving speeds. At least for me, moving a stick that requires such force… that just doesn‘t go as fast as I can move my Thrustmaster flightstick. It is really hard work in the real aircraft. And doing twitchy full deflection inputs is just not on the table. Lifting a 40 lbs is one thing, lifting it in 1/10th of a second another. It may be a good idea to restrict the AI input control speed. Those AI 109E act like best case Fw190… But maybe it‘s just my impression. For good reason, the „break!“ was always pulling elevator and full rudder in given direction. Aileron you can do if you still are strong enough for that after you moved out of the firing trajectory. Imagine it like stepping down on one foot while pulling back on the stick with all your might. How much lateral stick movement you can do in that situation depends entirely on the aircraft and flight speed. Indecisive rolling right, rolling left works if you are basically in an Extra300. But not in kites with such stick forces. The GFX look nice though. 1
343KKT_Kintaro Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Thumbs up to this video, everything seems to be ok, I didn't notice anything goes wrong. 1
DFLion Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Thanks ATAG_Pattle, Great video, I really like the 'TrueSky' feature, it will make a big difference to the game immersion. The 4K terrain also looks really good, I'll have to go back and revamp my COD Missions once you release the update. I'm currently updating my computer which will get me comfortably into VR - looking forward to that as well. DFLion 1
timothy55 Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 As a Brit it is difficult to hide my delight seeing that video. Editor , missions, campaigns and not forgetting multiplayer , virtual squadrons after the visual upgrade and addition of VR will be something special to see and experience. lets not forget also a call to attention for skinners, BOB was a rich environment for paint jobs. 1
philiped Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Absolutely superb work! You can see just how much depth the new clouds add to the sky. I have one comment, and of course I understand that this is all very much WIP, but to me the sky-dome still looks extremely grey and washed out. If you contrast this with the weather in DCS (which to me is currently the pinnacle in combat flight sims) you can see just how rich the blue hues are high in the sky, and then how they fade into brighter colours. I know the stereotype is that British weather is grey and miserable, but there needs to be more colour, even on a cloudy day. When the sim first released the lighting was so far advanced for its time, and then sadly one of the updates totally washed out the gorgeous work Oleg had put in. Hopefully with the fantastic new features of TrueSky you will be able to bring back some colour to the sim, that has sadly been missing during much of the last decade. 4
Buffo002 Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 I don't understand why someone keeps solving something, it's a great job. After all, it depends on many aspects and according to the clouds it was cloudy, so it's hard to have bright colors, as it's cloudy and the weather has many options, and this was only a sample for one setting and it's still a WIP ... TFS excellent work guys keep going, I'm looking forward to it coming out. 2
Mysticpuma Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Quick point. Pllllleeaaaseee get rid or tidy up your pinned and stickies threads, then at least this will appear much more prominently, rather than being the last thread on the first page! 2

I trust the devs will intervene and bring a response to your query... but if I got it correctly, yes, these are 100% volumetric clouds. Looking forward to a confirmation though. 1
R33GZ Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Does truesky introduce different cloud types? Or are we stuck with the Marshmellow cumulus?
