DFLion_1944/45_Ar234B2 – Ground attack Mission

Maj. Robert Kowalewski, CO of KG76, has just been ordered by the German High Command to carry out an immediate jet bomber attack on the British First Army, probing the German front line south of the City of Nijmegan.

I recommend you put your Arado on autopilot before taxying for take-off and watch the impressive RATO (Rocket assisted take-off).

When you arrive at the target area, watch out for Allied fighters and when you return to Achmer also keep a good ‘eye on the sky’?

With this download and my setup it won't show in the game's mission list. mctree cache deleted, regenerated the msnbin file ... ?

I think the error could be in the mission name, there's a / in it: DFLion_1944/45_Ar234B2 - Ground Attack .. ?

Might have found it, it was not set on single mission type ... no tme to test a fix now alas.

DFLion,

Just downloaded your most recent Ar234 mission and was unable to open the mission.  I’ve opened it in the ME and re-saved it and although the mission shows up in the missions folder I’m still unable fly it.  Any idea as to why?  Never had this happen before.

Jollyjack and Falcon41,

Thanks for your feedback. Firstly on your query Jollyjack, I used a template map to setup the mission which was called Rheinland_Winter - open up 'DF_1944_45_Arado234B2-Ground_Attack in your 'Missions' then click on 'Rheinland_Winter_AradoGA' to start the mission.

Regarding your query Falcon41, the Mission was built in version 4.706b and I use 'Steam' as my game carrier. I've personally had no problems starting the mission. See what I wrote for 'Jollyjack' above, that might help you. Let me know how you go - I'll try to help you as much as I can.

PS Jollyjack, good to see you creating a mission, I'll give it run shortly.

Hi DF it now runs, since i changed mission type to single; guess it was set to some multiplayer type.

PS i only changed plane names, to see the who's who ... and set on runway, that arado is impossible to taxi for me.

Hi jollyjack,

As a courtesy in future, please let me know if you are going to alter any of my missions - I don't mind you doing it, just please let me know.

I checked your mission changes and I noticed the last two Arado's on the runway crashed into each other on take off. The reason for this is that the 'taxying track' was still on the runway where they were parked. The other problem that has occurred with your changes is that the timing for the intercepting Tempests has been thrown out.

I will alter the mission with your changes to work better. As I mention in the game text, the Arado is slow to taxi because of the jet engine 'spooling-up' slowly to get the aircraft to move - the original jet engines. I suggested that you put the aircraft on autopilot and watch it taxi to the take off point. I'm not sure about changing the mission type to single, I didn't have any problems with this.

DF Lion,

Got the mission to run, the issue was that the mission was not set  to “single”.  I’ve had this happen to me on several occasions when mission building and trying to move too fast on the keyboard. A simple fix, but frustrating when looking for a a solution.

I must apologize 'Falcon41', I changed the Mission Type to 'Enemy Column Attack' instead of leaving it at 'Single' - I won't be doing that again! Anyway I am glad you can play it now.

Took my adapted version off ... forgot to check matters like plane charted take off ... sorry.

Maybe add a on bingo bombs and RTB route command for the Arado? keeps circling at the attack area on autopilot?

Single only works for my PC, maybe to do with an IP address and MP i never set up?
