AI Wellington take off/landing.

Is there a UK airfield in the BoB maps that an AI Wellington can use? I have tried a few but they don't seem to be able to handle the Wellington.

I tried many times with 12-ton fully-loaded Wellingtons... and managed to safely take off... one time only. As a conclusion, I think this is a question for pilots who are experienced with the Welly for, indeed, there are several players out there who managed to tame that beast very well. Not me though.

IMPORTANT:

 

Historically Wellingtons only loaded 50% fuel when also loaded with maximum bombload.

 

Missions built with the AI Wellingtons with 100% fuel load and maximum bombload will have problems taking off.

 

2nd, Bombers operated historically out of airfields with longer runways.  So Fighter fields, which are the most common on the map, do not have long enough space to allow safe takeoff.

 

Mission builders need to be careful to make sure bomber missions have the aircraft taking off from airfields with the maximum space available.
