migmadmarine Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 (edited) What are the things that lead to fires with the Arado/262? I've just done a long range career mode flight with the Arado, and on the way back from target my engines spontaniously caught fire several times after pushing them hard for a while (Possibly past the 15 min) but I was below limits for the rest of the flight (even as low as 6,000 RPM) temps well below 600, with spontaneous fires happening every maybe every 10 minutes or so. Does exceeding the limits make fire more likely later in flight? Edited July 6, 2022 by migmadmarine
migmadmarine Posted July 6, 2022 Author Posted July 6, 2022 Nope, veeery slow throttle changes, and most of the subsequent fires occured with my hands off the throttle minutes after the last change.
FeuerFliegen Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 You probably damaged the engine by pushing it past 15 minutes, in which case will cause the engine to catch fire at random.
iFoxRomeo Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Was tech-chat activated? Any messages there? Do you have a track of such an event?

That sounds most plausible to me. Didn't record a track and I fly with techno chat off Edited July 6, 2022 by migmadmarine
