IckyATLAS Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 (edited) I made long flights on the Rheinland map and I have not been able to understand how fuel tanks work. In the key settings we have the following fuel related commands: LCrtl+S Turn chosen fuel selector RSht+S Switch to next fuel selector LSht+P Switch to next fuel pump LCtl+P Switch chosen fuel pump RSht+D Fuel dump I have never been able to use the commands above to select fuel tanks and or pumps. Like using first the long range tanks and then switch to the inner/cont ones. And the drop tanks seem to exist but are invisible and cannot be switched (seems logical as they do not exist) Here are the fuel gauges in different configurations: At parking 100% fuel load (Please note the Port Starboard selector buttons under the navigator hand. We see also that Drop Tanks seem to be full. But there are no drop tanks. The long range tanks one is full and one is empty why? At parking very low fuel load. Here there is a little in the long range and a little in the other internal tanks Inner? and Cont? where are they in the plane? Here are images of the fuel gauges during the flight that started with full fuel load. During leg 1 - You see that the Drop Tanks are being depleted, the others are untouched. I would say it is a bug. In reality the drop tanks should always be empty here and the two long range tanks should have been full at start and then depleted. During leg 2 - You can see now that the dup tanks are empty and that the long range and inner and cont tanks are being emptied in parallel. This should not be so. Only the long range should be emptied and then the inner ones. Conclusion the fuel tank management seems messed up, but maybe I am missing something here. Regarding the Fuel Dump command, it works but only visually, I mean you can see the fuel trail been dumped on each wing but the fuel tank indicators will not move by an inch and so it seems you can dump fuel indefinitely. I waited some time but nothing was happening and normally fuel dumping is a pretty fast process. Edited July 2, 2022 by IckyATLAS
kendo Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Fuel management has not been introduced yet. They've been working on it for a long time, but has been delayed several times. 1
Jade_Monkey Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Those commands are for the upcoming fuel mgmt feature which isn't out yet as kendo mentioned. Devs said it will be first implemented in the Bf109, so not sure when we'll see it for the Mossie. I'd love to see the spitfire, p51 and P47 go next but that's just my preference.
IckyATLAS Posted July 2, 2022 Author Posted July 2, 2022 Maybe fuel management will come with the drop tanks. That would be enough for an update package. As usual wait and see. If it will come then it will come..........one day ?

JonRedcorn Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Has there been any news or DD's recently talking about this upcoming feature? I'd love to get some more insight on it. Probably my most looked forward to addition to the game. Anything to add depth to our already nice aircraft is more than welcome in my book. 2

My guess is that they are inchruch mode trying to squeeze out the final Normandy release, so other features will be on the back burner for a little. On the plus side, the beginning of the next cycle (wherever that takes us), would be a great time to return to these features since most models and maps will be on the initial stages. I really look forward to fuel systems too, adds some depth to the gameplay.

The settings in keymapping should give you a clue to what it going to be modeled. So far it's only been Bf-109's because they are to short legged. Trying to fly to England might prove problematic on empty tanks. Like the control settings new profiles update, just be patient and it will get here. Once the Me-410, and the BoN map are fine tuned, there will be more time fuel systems to be dialed in for those long Messer trips to Saville Row for your new skivvies.. Edited July 29, 2022 by Hoss

There was a photo posted of a 109 with a drop tank several months ago in one of the DD's, can't remember which one though, hopefully after BON and FCII are finished a lot of lingering things can be addressed/finished up.
