Dear Pilots!

Today’s Developer Diary is a continuation of last weeks with more pictures of the upcoming ME 410 release, this time of the very cool looking cockpit along with more images of airfields on the Normandy map.

The ME 410 is the last of the player flyable aircraft from the Normandy plane-set to be released and the cockpit proved to be a challenge to create, especially with its unique defensive armament arrangement and complicated gunner controls. However, our modeling and engineering teams have once again created an amazing combat experience for IL-2 pilots. The ME 410 will enter beta testing very soon and testers can put it through its paces. We’re almost there Hornisse fans!

Full Text and Visuals HERE.

The 410's cockpit looks simply stunning!

Somebody here commented on the Arado's cockpit 'almost looking like a TIE-Fighter'. Well if this is true, the 410's almost looks like the freakin' Millennium Falcon.

BoN's release just can't come soon enough.

Superb, this is going to be a great module!

Loving all these new cockpits, the Arado's & Mossie cockpits are jaw-dropping in VR and I'd expect the 410 to be just as amazing...?

Great!

Work on the Normandy map, Normandy Career and remaining vehicles and ships continue full throttle as we march to release in the coming weeks.

That might mean an August release of BoN and the 410 in Juli? Sweet ?

It's possible to find in Normandy career some Polish 306, 309, 315 or 316; P-51B squadrons?

No. 316 (Polish) Squadron 'Warszawski' RAF will be available to the player.

AI squadrons: No. 306 (Polish) Squadron 'Toruński' RAF and No. 315 (Polish) Squadron 'Dębliński' RAF

Oh wow. That cockpit has to be up there as one of the very best made for the sim - from both a modelling and texturing perspective. It's going to look especially stunning in dawn/dusk conditions. Plus that map is looking sublime! Really hope it's as well optimised as the other maps, as I'm loving how high my frames are (even higher than prior to the clouds update) at nearly full graphics settings on my well-loved 1060.

For mission designer, if the mission starts on parking, they will have to give very accurate indications fro taking off : Runway, direction .. to avoid maiisve collisions :)

These IL-2 GB Devs are truly ... Top Gun Academy graduates !

Thank You all so much for this newest "Tour de Force".

I am soooooooo looking forward to the 410 and to try to use the gunners position. It seems to me it is a little StarWars . It will be interesting to see & feel its FM and how well it stands up to the late war allied fighters (i.e.better than the 110??) Honestly I can wait for a bit ,after all we have the new & beautiful Arado 234 & Dehavilland Mosquito to play with in the meantime!

Looking great! Is that a new "mowed grass" texture I see in the interior of some airfields?

Just breathtaking levels of detail pouring out of the cockpit of the Me 410! its hard to fathom just how much effort has gone into creating it and all the intricate details including that elaborate canopy design and the gunner mechanics. It also boggles my mind how much equipment the Germans were throwing into this sophisticated machine. Its over-engineered beyond belief, but I love it (like I am the Arado).

Airfields are looking great too! an almost endless number of layouts, runways and field types... should provide tons of variety and challenges for missions and multiplayer games alike - especially with IL2's beautiful sky and weather dynamics.

I'm thrilled, I really am! can't wait to get my hands on this all ?

Does it mean in the upcoming patch overall brightness and bloom will be fixed? Would be great!

Screens present beautiful things! Really looking forward!

The bloom might another issue. But I guess the brightness and color are kinda hardcoded in the textures of this new map. If I am right about this, there won't be a benefit for the other maps.

Nah, i was busy with work stuff. It's thursday, not friday after all. So i had to work till 4pm. :P  I'm here now and I like what i'm seeing!
Also look at how advanced the 410 is
ME_410_Cockpit_07.png

the placard below the altimeter say "tire pressure warning" in WW2!!! This hasn't become mandatory in the EU until 2014!!! ?

I give the 410 cockpit a rating of 10/10 chefs kisses ?

and i like this picture for one particular reason. those who know, know ;)

That was one of the first things that struck me as I was researching the airfields for this map: there were so many unique layouts - so much so that almost every one of them has it's own distinct shape.

Is there will be career continuity in BoBP map to 1945?

That's it, I could not resist any longer!

I have always been shopping at greatly reduced prices during sales, but this is looking so good that I don't mind paying almost full price.

Nice. The Me-410 made me pre-order a module for the first time.

OMG this is Triqueville airfield coming to life. I can't believe it. Thank you so much, time to preorder BON.
