Possible to map a yoke and joystick and use both in the same flight for elevator and aileron control?

I have the honeycomb alpha and a virpil joystick. I can map both devices and they are detected fine  but when I fly the honeycomb alpha seem to take precedence as I can only use it´s axis where I can still use the buttons I map for the virpil joystick but not aileron or elevator axis!

I don't think you can without removing one each time you want to use the other, I have a good yoke and a good stick, I  tried and could not make it work, like you can do  in MSFS 2020 you can program both and use the yoke whenever you want or the stick.

This might change in the future, because at one time was mentioned we will be able to have settings per each plane or something of this sort.

Yes disconnecting the yoke I can use the joystick. No big issue as you don´t jump between planes between missions I suppose can use the joystick as a button pad at least when using the yoke. Wonder if changing cpuid would allow me to do vice versa too if the joystick can be made to take precedence.

I'm fairly certain you could achieve this with Joystick Gremlin and a mode switch, xy from joystick active in mode1 vs xy from yoke in mode2. Initial setup might be a hassle (HID Guardian makes it a bit easier).

This is exactly right. Just bind a virtual axis in game and use mode selection to choose one or the other. I do this with all my throttle axes, and have posted about it here

Soon we should have individual plane control profiles so that will probably solve your problem (assuming you're switching controls because you're switching planes).
