Mysticpuma Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Thanks for sharing. So sad this isn't done by the team itself ?

Dagwoodyt Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Doubtless in-cockpit colors, reflections and FOV look considerably different in motion. Thanks!
sunrrrise Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Mysticpuma, were you taking those screens with toaster? ? We-need-a-quality!

Mysticpuma Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) Well here's a few for those who don't visit FB 4K textures and a bit of Truesky Edited June 24, 2022 by Mysticpuma 10 2
firdimigdi Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 I really hope that brown tint can be either adjusted or removed by players if it's a thing with the new sky, or at least it's part of a separate weather setting (dust storm or whatever). 1
Knightmare Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 I'm stunned by how good these shots look. Getting incredibly close to photographic quality. With a little editing, they could easily be passed off as real. 4 hours ago, Firdimigdi said: I really hope that brown tint can be either adjusted or removed by players if it's a thing with the new sky, or at least it's part of a separate weather setting (dust storm or whatever). That brown tint looks great to me. Some proper atmospheric condition possibilities. 1 1

343KKT_Kintaro Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 I think the colours are correct. It's much more related to the geology of the area and surface-showing minerals all over the ground. Please see photographs here, for example: Libyan Desert - Wikipedia

Out of the images above, there's only one that, at least to me, shows a bizarre tint for the sky (that one), as it is a bit darker than the brightness that is visible on the ground. Other than that, I'm ok with the general tint of these development screenshots.
firdimigdi Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 (edited) Looking at the last batch they all have it. I've been to Libya and other parts of the north African coast, I currently live on Crete, and the sky only acquires a tint if there's a severe dust storm and when that occurs you also have quite seriously poor visibility. With light dust/sandstorms the sky becomes milky/warm-white and the horizon simply blends (the sunlight is also very diffuse and tiring then) - you'll never have both clear visibility to the horizon and non-blue skies. Usually due to dry atmosphere the sky is extremely blue. Anyhow, it's all WIP now so I guess it'll be sorted out in the process. Edited June 27, 2022 by Firdimigdi 1
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted June 27, 2022 Team Fusion Posted June 27, 2022 Please note: trueSKY is not implemented fully in any of the preview screenshots. Neither are the latest trees and vegetation to be implemented with Speedtree 9. 1 1

OBT-Lionel Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 I understand why the TFS does not want to communicate. As soon as they show images in WIP the critics fall. 2

I don't see it as criticism? They are questions that are generating discussion and interest in the sim. Just look at the views and interest in this one thread.... how can that be a bad thing after months of tumbleweed? 2

I had my suspicions this was the case as I noted in my last comment but as I'd been seeing this in screenshots since last year I was not sure. Thanks for clearing that up, Buzzsaw.
sunrrrise Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 How is it possible this game still looks so good...? ...and I am not saying it as "looks good as 11 years old piece of software", but to the modern standards. 2 1

The game has been continuously updated. And the original was way ahead of other games when it was released. When we release the visual update with all the elements, we hope people will be pleasantly surprised to see the game has a new face. ? 7 3

Jeroen83 Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Ok, I’m sold. Is VR still accessible as beta testing when I purchase Tobruk?

Dagwoodyt Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 (edited) IDK whether any trueSKY effects are active in these latest images as no context is provided. Hopefully video with trueSKY cloud formations soon. Edited June 29, 2022 by Dagwoodyt
354thFG_Leifr Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Why is the atmosphere so brown? I live in the UK, it sure ain't that murky. 1

Mysticpuma Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Title of the topic is not exclusively Truesky, it does also include 4k texture posts

It does not reflect the real-time weather for sure, but I personally find the color looks similar to some sort of movie filters or old color films, which is quite interesting. For example here is an image from the 1969 movie Battle of Britain Edited June 29, 2022 by I/JG54_chuishan

I am guessing that the haze is a trueSKY effect and that tweaking of shaders is in progress. The mystery is that screenshots are being offered instead of videos. Undoubtedly much progress has occured since the video of 4k in "soup" over France.
