Does anyone know if there is a way to enlarge the usable map area in the EMG?

I know that I could adjust the base template, which would take a while, but would the EMG assign any mission data to it? I imagine it would be preset to the supplied templates.

I'm wanting to have bombing missions start much further away from the target area, currently they are based roughly 60km from their targets.

I have only played around with the stalingrad maps so far, but the other theatres look the same with regard to total map area

Hi,

Recently I added a new front "the Rhine" for Rhineland that is much bigger than the existing ones.

To add a bigger front you need to do the following:

-Open the template in the mission editor

-Create a new front template by copying an existing one, ie a group called "Lines_A" and rename it to a letter that isn't used, ie "Lines_D".

-In this group you adjust the 4 icons that define the border, the icons that show where the front is and the influence area for each side that define the area for each coalition. All these are used in EMG to show the borders on the map

-In the maps.json file you need to add an entry in the "periods" section, ie "New Front Name": "D", so it will show up in EMG

-In the maps.json file add an entry with available airfields for the new area, ie "airfields_allied": { "D": ["airfield1", "airfield2" ...] } for both sides

This should be enough to make it work in EMG. However, if in the new area there are no / not enough airfields or objective areas defined in the template than the generator will fail. For Stalingrad this shouldn't be a problem if you define a new area around the existing ones.

Thanks for the reply vander, I'll have a look when I get some time. I'm guessing the .json files are editable with notepad?
