Normandy / Spitfire XIV - engine failures & fuel gauge

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Just started playing Sturmovik again after a one year break. Moved continents and had no rig to play on.

With reference to the Spitfire I'm getting quite a few engine failures. I wanted to check best engine settings with the forum

I normally run on 65% RPM as standard

Also the fuel gauge on the Spit. You need to fly straight and level to get a reading? Been doing that but nothing happening.

Finally I bought Normandy PREMIUM some time ago. But not seen the Mosquitoe yet. Is it yet to be released?

Thanks,

Ken

You're in the wrong section of the forum, this is the Flying Circus section.

What Spitfire are you referring to? We have 3 Spitfires in game now and there's a 4th coming as a collector's aircraft.

Here you find info on how to fly the planes, tutorials made by longstanding member and real life pilot Requiem:

If you bought Normandy Premium, you should get the Mosquito in game. I don't know if it's the Steam version you bought?

Have a nice day.

For Mk XIV

Cruise:

2400 RPM +7 boost = unlimited

Combat:

2600 RPM +9 Boost = 60 minutes

Emergency:

2750 RPM +18 Boost = 5 minutes

Emergency 150 Octane:

2750 RPM + 21 Boost = 5 minutes

Afaik not really no, the fuel gauge is activated by a button but it is not a system you can operate. The game activates the buttons in intervals instead.

If it does not indicate something it means you are looking at the gauge while the game is not pressing the button for you. You simply have to observe the gauge for longer, at some point the game will presses the button for you and you will get a fuel indication.

You're welcome.

Here you find information about many of the planes too (how to's, engine management,...), made by Sheriff's Sim Shack.

He recently made several vid's on the Spit MkIX, check it out:
