Blitzen Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 This has gone on for some time. I almost always play Great Battles in Steam install with VR with Reverb G2 goggles... In the course of game play I frequently get a screen freeze, usually (but not always )exiting game play after ending a mission. The screen will freeze in the cockpit view of where the flight scene has stopped( the view in the VR goggles that is,), and the monitor will freeze on the mission results screen. In the VR view the cockpit view is "cropped " or :framed" with a tilted black rectangular border , which locks in the view I see with VR goggles of a frozen screen. It happens most often on Rhineland maps but I've seen it happen on other maps as well. There are two ways to get out of the frozen situation. I can wait it out ,usually about 5 minutes and I'll be back at the Steam Library page where I can start game play again or I can use "Task Manager " to quit the game .At this point the cockpit view is still frozen in the ReverbG2 headset and now I have to shut down Steam VR. If I want to play again I have to start everything over again. I've tried everything I can think of :uninstalling & reinstalling game ( with Mods on, with them off,) through Steam, checking game files to see what could be missing and usually I am missing a file or two. Restoring them doesn't solve the Freezes. I've done a completely new fresh install as well and then replaced the various graphic folders ,paint schemes, mission etc. . It still occurs. With the last Arado 234 update, I started fresh again , with "Mods" off .I also did a fresh install of Steam VR ,and Microsoft Mixed Reality. I 'd really like some help on this, because other than this problem the sim is working perfectly. Would downloading the game here again and using that version be of any help ,or perhaps overlaying the newly downloaded version over the one in the Steam folder be a possible solution? Any ideas?
