ADDED set the On Moored to the first jeep spawn timer, and set the jeeps closer to the landing spot and on top of each other ...

Edited a little more; the 3 jeeps now start on the craft and disembark. 

What's really weird is the the craft behaves like the Flying Dutchman;

shoots something at the German trucks while having no guns, and there is nobody on board, not even a helms man ...

Maybe someone more experienced can improve this setup?

The list of flyable aircraft isn't in alphabetical order. It's after the Me262 B2 in the list of Axis aircraft

Yeah, I'd trouble finding it for a fast minute, then again, it is "Wild Wine Wednesday" here.

Thanks for this update. And the B26 has working tactical codes too.

The pilot and copilot have new caps, very nice.

Flown it 5 times. Engine stops after 1,5 second in airstart. And it do not burn in heavy crashes. Witch also would be 5 times

Do someone know why all the new allied bi-motors C-47 (before the future release of the collector plane), the B-25, now the B-26 are always AI planes, in stead of all the last german bi-motors are immediately release flyable Ju-88, AR-234 .... ?

Its simply 5v5 dlc, so you run out fast on what to add for axis, while you have to many options for allieds.

R was engage rocket boosters and left shift D to jettison them, wasn't expecting them to have parachutes :)

I was having the same issue. Dont apply throttle, fully closed till the engine is at 3000rpm.

Yes, they had parachutes so they could be refueled and reused.

Nope, no sign of it. Even in mouse view, I'd think a corner of the photo would be visible from some angle.

 

Now, I have a few recordings of the Ar-234 and B-26. Question: (and apologies if this has been mentioned already): does the B-26 have a functional hydraulics system?

 

Or are these instances of gear dropping and bomb bay doors opening after taking damage, simply an AI bug?

I'm a little disappointed the B-26's waist gun couldn't fire on my 190 during my low approach. I was hoping it could be tilted back at an extreme angle.

It was possible to bail out from B-26 through the hatches in the bomb bay, and in the front landing gear bay. Therefore, in case of damage, the landing gear is extended and the bomb bay opens - the AI is preparing to leave the plane.

Same way you start the 262............. no difference I could tell between the two planes, you should try it without the inner gauge working, its all by ear then.. LOL

 

Hit 1, (select engine 1) then RCtl +1, (start engine 1) let the inner needle get up to 1, apply the igniter RSht + 1, (ignite engine 1) wait until the inner needle gets to 2, then it reverts to outer scale, and you SLOWLY advance throttle to 3, and release the igniter button/switch, move throttle back down to 2000.  Rinse, repeat on right side. I have each engine on a seperate throttle (TMWH) and slowly advance engines until above 6000 RPM... it won't break tension on the wheels until you get to 8000 RPM.

Interesting design feature, thanks for explaining.

 

What confused me was how even after the explosion in the Fw-190 clip, the gear/bomb doors opened. Meaning that at least 1 crew member survived the explosion and was evidently conscious, which is unusual.

 

In the clip where the doors didn't open after the explosion, everyone must've been dead or unconscious.

Sadly, I can't recreate this.

 

I tried landing gear-down on water; landing gear-up on water, and finally, driving into water. Nothing worked.

Thanks! "Right-Shift/Ctrl K" are the default bindings. If you pull up as quick as you hear the buzzer and climb a smidgen, the buzzer will quit. If you proceed nose down even more, you have to adjust the contact altimeter settings to shut it up.

 

I have like two or three missions in a BoM campaign before I "dive" into the Arado! Thanks all!

Did anyone found a way to rebind the mirror ? i haven't had any luck with the shortkey one of the devs said earlier

Bug:

What did they say to use...? The mirrors open and close using the 'Open windows' key binding of 'Left Windows C'....'LWinC'

Ar234 seems like a fun plane to fly, drag chute can come handy in various situations.

 

BUT please make game/VR/engine optimization cos VR experience really went down south, to get playable VR performance i need to dial down graphics that looks quite worse than pre clouds hotfix/skybox update.

And no offense but beside way exceesice glare i see no graphical improvement when it comes to new skybox.....or even clouds..to justify terrible perofmance loss!

I hate to say it but further il2GB content purchase is on hold for me until you optimize game or i buy rtx5090...which ever comes first!

Hi Guys, First Thank You, for all the hard work the developers put into these Aircraft. I love the new planes. Can anyone tell me where the gunsite is on the Arado? Also how do I get to the dive bomb site? Thanks in advance. IL-2 just keeps getting better and better.

You canot drop Bombs (Levelbomb) without Delay
 
If you levelbomb with a 1000kg + 2x500kg are the distances between 1000kg and 500kg too far away. (thrown from 5000m with automatic

Keep in mind when creating 3D models, devs only had to build one cockpit for Ju-88C, Arado, Mossie and C-47. In order to make B-25 and -26 flyable, they would have to build at least four separate crew stations for each plane. That multiplies workload and production cost a lot. 

 

That's probably not the only reason, but considering how often Jason writes about time and resources limitations of his business, I'm not surprised that "flyability" of these two bombers is low on priority list.

About the gunsite, i'm guessing you get it only if you have the gunpods? since ya know, the bird dont have guns from the get go

I absolutely love the Arado!

 

Wow, in VR it’s so cool!   For some reason, I thought it would be a lot bigger.  Great job devs.   So impressed.   Can’t wait to experiment more on the weekend.

The guns are aimed through the periscopic sight (LShift+V). It works well enough against bombers.

 

Otherwise one has to aim instinctually using the tracers... I think the cockpit provides an excellent view for deflection shots... but it is definitely harder to hit a maneuvering target (as the periscope isn't suitable).

My problem is that when I select the Rhineland map click on one of the German crosses to pick a bombing mission like a supply dump, I do not see the Ar-234 in the list Of planes available to fly. When I just do a free flight in the same map I can select it in the list and fly. Could this possibly be a bug? Anyone else have this issue? Could you please try it.  I hope I have come across clear on this.

I have a technical observation concerning the periscope rear view of the Ar 234:

 

According to original documents for this type of periscope gunsight, the rear view was intentionally inverted vertically, but not laterally. As a result, the pilot could use the usual stick inputs to intuitively steer the gunsight towards the target (e.g., move the stick to the left if the target is to the left of the gunsight and pull the stick back if the target is above the gunsight).

 

In the game, the rear view image is inverted both vertically and laterally, defeating this purpose (this can be easily verified by trying to steer the rear gunsight towards a waypoint).

 

Granted, this is currently of little relevance as the Ar 234 has no rear armament.
