Battle of Hürtgenwald (Hurtgen Forest)

I'm flying the Hürtgenwald campaign, made by AEthelraedUnraed.  When finished I'll go right into Hellhawks over the Bulge.

Both of these campaigns are special for me, cause my Grandfather served in the 9th Infantry Division, 60th Infantry Regiment, and saw combat in both battles.  I am excited to be able to provide some virtual Close Air Support for him, nearly 78 years later!

 

(Also as I came here to post this, I saw another member has also started the campaign.  It will be neat to watch both of use progress through the missions, and see how we both handle the challenges!)

Mission 2 is special for me: I'm flying close air support for the 9th Infantry's 60th Infantry Regiment.  That was my Grandfather's unit!  So, I get to help him out, in Virtual Reality, nearly 78 years after he was there, fighting for real!

Also, stick around for the Very Special Landing!

Mission 3!  This one has me providing close air support by attacking some artillery positions.  I experience an accelerated wing stall, I don't use the Markers for the whole mission, just the old Mk I Eyeball, and a Very Special Appearance by Dr Mark Felton!

Mission 4: This mission has me flying close air support attacking tanks and mechanized infantry!

Mission 5 calls for disrupting German supply lines! Snowy, getting dark and some Focke Wulfs are lurking in the AO...

In this mission, we're attacking the village of Hürtgen itself!  Guns in houses, and rocket trucks!

Great video! I saw that in settings you have throttle Limiting checked, could this be the cause of your throttle problems?

Mission #8 Nov 27th, '44.  Holding the village of Hürtgen with rockets and bombs, targeting buildings and gun emplacements.

Thanks!  I will play with that option and see if that is doing it or not.  I thought it was just so we can't blow the engine up in a dive at 100% throttle, or similar.  But perhaps it is the issue here.

This time has us tasked with stopping a counterattack of Panzers!
