New Military Channel Series "AIR ACES"

Hey guys, theres a new Series dedicated to Air Aces from WWII and on called "Air Aces", on the military channel.  Its first Episode is in August 4th!

 

I got my DVR set!!!

I think Hans-Joachim Marseille has left us long ago. I don't know if the picture you posted correct either. There is a small fleck of white paint missing from the defense stripe on the real plane. Then again this looks like an earlier variant. But all the same, hell yes it would be nice. The oldest living Luftwaffe ACE who's kills are kind of suspect is Erich Rudorffer who is in his 90's now.

Bad guys is relative I guess.. I'd be happy of they just had programs about the Aces.. all of them.. but I guess some of that info is hard to get.

Back in the early 90s there was the series called HUNTERS IN THE SKY. It had fighter pilots from all over the world. Most now have long since died. Great series if you can find it.

Yess they did. I'm watching att 14 episodes now. Herr Gunther Rall is on most of them!!!

Günther Rall was the commanding officer of the squadron I served in.

Although by the time I was there he was already long in retirement.

Yeah that sounds like a winner. I just saw the segment in the Redtails.. It was good enough but if you know the history you will see they got a lot of facts wrong.

problem with "aces" is that the ultimate aces lists consists mainly german and japanese and few pilots from russia and finland.

Still all films and documentaries  are always cheering for brave yankees...

 Same goes to kill-to-loss ratio and fight for "best" airplane...The best kill-to-loss of any fighter in the Second World War (26-to-1) was garnered by an aircraft that is widely considered the worst fighter of the war - the Brewster B-239 flown by finnish pilots.

Man if they can get SIMS to look as good as the CG in this series I would never ever see the light of day again. Great show by the way. Bader is a BAMF!
