Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Jagdgeschwader 1 "Oesau" (JG 1) is a seriously minded online cyber-squadron. We are North American based, with a strong European contingent, and have a long and distinguished history online. JG1 can trace its origins back to March 1992, and Red Baron Online. We are one of the oldest virtual squadrons currently active on the internet. http://www.jg1.org JG 1 is currently composed of three Gruppen, and one GeschwaderStab. You can see us online as: Stab./JG 1, I./JG 1, II./JG 1 and III./JG 1. We are heavily involved in IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad / Moscow, IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover, DCS: World War II, and IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946. Looking forward to seeing you all in the virtual skies! ~Salut!~ Alfred Klaiber Obst.u.Geschwaderkommodore Stab Jagdgeschwader 1 Edited June 19, 2023 by Stab/JG1_Klaiber 1
Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted August 7, 2013 Author Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) Hi All, Just a quick bump, as IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad get's closer to it's beta release. JG 1 "Oesau" is currently composed of both North American and European members. We fly IL-2:1946 with HSFX, and IL-2: Cliffs of Dover. And as JG I "Richthofen" (our other face), we fly Rise of Flight and coordinate the "Flanders in Flames" tournament. As mentioned in my first post, we're very much looking forward to the release of this game. Should anyone be interested in checking us out, just drop by our website and say hi: http://www.jg1.org See you all in the cyber-skies! ~Salut!~ Klaiber Edited March 8, 2016 by II./JG1_Klaiber
II./JG1_StOtto Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Herr Klaiber <S> Been awhile, hope you all are good. This group is one of the best bar none. They will teach you more then any other unit out there.
Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Hey Stotto, Great to hear from you! And thanks for the kind praise. Definitely looking forward to flying with you again once BoS is released.
Klink Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hey Klai!! Its Klink, glad to see you boys are still kicking around...so your going to try to get behind this one. After much frustration I just stopped flying CoD I had so much hope for it
Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 Hey Klink, It's been great flying with you again! CoD has it's moments, and the unofficial patch really helps a lot. But it's still not ideal. Hopefully, BoS will be the successor to 1946 that we've all been waiting for.
II./JG1_StOtto Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Herr Klaiber I was trying to get to the website JG1, is it down?
JG1_Pragr Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 It's working now. At least I can get there.
Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Yeah, it went down last weekend, unfortunately. Not sure why. Hopefully it wasn't Allied bombing.

Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Thanks Oesau! Are you still flying with SC/JG? Hope to see you guys in the air.
Oesau Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Hi Klaiber - yes SC/JG are still around though the numbers are definitely on the lower side than they used to be but that's just a cyclic thing with titles coming and going! Yes we'll be seeing you in the air in 2014

707shap_Srbin Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Hi guys! Thought it would be interesting for You: Walter Oesau was shot down by 1Lt. James L. "Pappy" Doyle of the 428th FS, 474th FG, 9th USAAF. Oesau was chased by Doyle, 1st Lt. Wilbur L. Jarvis III, and 1st Lt. James C. Austin, all of Green Flight. They chased Oesau from high altitude down to the deck. The fight lasted almost 20 minutes when Oesau's Bf109 was hit and crippled. Oesau attempted to make an emergency landing and was shot down a couple of feet above the ground. Oesau's body was found in the vicinity of his wrecked 109 with several bullet wounds presumed shot dead before his aircraft hit the ground. Oesau was flying Bf109G-6/AS, werknummer 20601, "Grun 13". Gun camera footage from Doyle's P-38 clearly showed a Bf109G-6/AS marked Green 13, painted in RLM 76 and a red RVT band. This information puts to rest the last flight of Walter Oesau. Last "photo" of his Bf 109G-6/AS, "Green 13" W.Nr. 20601:
Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Thanks for the post Panzerbar! Back in IL-2: 1946, Cpt. Farrel had an excellent skin this aircraft: http://www.cptfarrels.com/Bf-109G-6_AS/Bf-109G-6_AS.html Either way, there is some great video of Oesau on the net as well: 1

Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Amazing pictures Panzerbar! I wonder if there is a way to identify the B-17.
FTC_Blaky Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) Hello, do you have a European section? I flew IL-2 1946, CLOD and have had a break for 3 years, now I have BOS and want to start again. I have TS + micro, joystick + peddals and I passed a few Joint Ops classes. My skills are probably a bit rusty now. I am looking for an English speaking, teamwork emphasizing, squadron with good chaps, flying in European flight time (I am GMT +1) . Hi Wolf_Ettel, We do have a European staffel - our 4./JG 1. They mostly fly Battle of Stalingrad / Moscow, and sometimes Cliffs of Dover. However, 4./JG 1 is mostly comprised of players from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. So there might be a language barrier for you. You'll have to let me know. Our North American staffeln - 5./JG 1 and 6./JG 1 do have some English-speaking European members. However, they're focused on IL-2: Cliffs of Dover, and only play BOS/M once in a while. If you have any questions about our squadron, please let me know. I'd be happy to help! Edited December 18, 2015 by II./JG1_Klaiber
Stab/JG1_Klaiber Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Great picture PanzerBar! If Oesau is on the left in the leather jacket, who is the officer (Leutnant?) on the right? Rudolf Pflanz, maybe?
