GOA_Karaya_VR Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 (edited) Hi pilots, yesterday i was fliying on Finnish Virtual Pilots and sudden my PC get stuck, i try to reset the whole thing and my worst fears become alive, i was thinking that my videocard dies. While triying every part of my pc i realize that was one of my RAM ( one of 8 gigs/ 2400hz ). I was running 24 gigs of ram, i never overclock the cpu, and ram ( i7 6700k ) , my GPU is fine, it's an RX 590 8gs, but now i only have 16 gigs of ram. It's that enough for running the sim? My headset is an Oculus Rift S , ( i running with SS 1.3 and Oculus Tray Tool ). I thank every comment and help with my question. Edited June 8, 2022 by GOA_Karaya_CRI*VR* 1
dburne Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 (edited) Yes for just IL-2, 16 Gb should be enough. Edited June 8, 2022 by dburne 1
chiliwili69 Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Yes, with 16Gb you are well covered either in monitor or VR: It is a bit strange you used 24Gb (3x8Gb) since normally the RAM sticks are an even number to benefit from the Dual Channel. And they should be put on the designted RAM slots indicated by yhe Mobo manufacturer.
Crocogator Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Why did you remove one stick of ram? It's possible that if you replaced sticks that they're not seated right, and given some heat, they come unstuck (very old school hardware problem). If not, maybe your old ram is dying.
