m1-vla balloon and ships

m1-vla balloon and ships, how to connect them; set linked entry and a target link from balloon to ship does not work it seems.

Connecting balloon to the ship with a target link works, but the balloon's cable is pulled in towards the ship.

 

Object link; must you also connect the ship's waypoint to the balloon? It does not seem to work ...

Works as advertised providing you use the working method here in your winches post:

 

 

Do not target link the balloon to the LCI. Use separate waypoint(s) for LCI to move and an altitude waypoint(s) for the balloon to lower or rise.

Thanks Tip, connected the balloons with the ship's waypoints all along the route with an object link; that worked ...

Had to set the heights OK for the balloons, as the ships ignore height, and the balloons weren't pulled down when the ships were moving.

Maybe the same with a winch vehicle moving?
